TWELVE missed calls in one day after I explicitly said on numerous occasions to NOT call me; email only. It is Telstra (at least the voicemail says it is) but at this point it is bordering on harassment.

Supposedly an NBN rep calling to confirm details of an NBN connection and installation. He may very well be, but until the idiots he works for can work out a way for him to confirm who he is without me giving up my private information to a random caller they are wasting their time using this method to talk to customers. I get half a dozen calls a week from central Asian accented scammers saying they are from Telstra trying to get me to give them my personal info. The genuine NBN service providers need to get in touch with reality.

OMG Jane i had the exact same experience, i spoke for hours to 23 different people just to transition from ADSL (they cut me off) to NBN. it's been 40 days without wifi but apparently today it's on, i just got a call from this number. I think they only fixed it because I went to the Ombudsman. I really dont want to use Telstra but little option where I live..for now.. thanks Marcia

they rang and Ireceived a message to call 101. For a start I am not paying for any message pickup and as i am living at my parents pace at the moment why would Telstra call my mobile when i don't have the internet in my name here at my parents house or my own home. Must be a scam.

Everyone here is saying it is from Telstra. I didn’t answer and they hung up and called again, left no message. I’ve just made a complaint against Telstra, to the ombudsman, and disconnected my phone and internet and cancelled my NBN contract within the cooling off period. So it may be them. Their customer service was appalling. All foreign call centers with no-one speaking or understanding a decent level of English. I have told them not to call me as the guy would promise one thing on the phone and then change the story when I asked for confirmation in writing. I spoke to about 12 different people in 3 different countries trying to get an issue resolved. They call, them hang up and leave no message and then email saying “we’ve tried to call you but we’re unable” etc. not worth talking to them on the phone. So probably was some dodgy Telstra call centre employee. Still waiting for them to disconnect after 3 weeks. No doubt thI will try to charge extra, but I have written confirmation of the cancellation so it will be another call to the ombudsman if they try to scam more money out of me. Don’t trust Telstra!

There was a message left on my mobile to call this number. Tried it but recording said 'your call could not be connected, please check the number and try again'. Tried again, it was then engaged. Tried again to get 'your call could not be connected, please check the number and try again'. Looks dodgy.

they do need your ID, because they are legally required to ensure they're speaking with you (even tho the law is flimsy with it, not like someone else doesn't know your DOB and full name) irrespective, it's telstra nbn; they have literally hundreds of virtual numbers. (full disclosure -- i'm an employee)

Just had a call, telling me they were from Telstra and wanted me to verify my details: Full Name, Address, DOB. Umm hell no. 1. you called me, 2. my NBN is fine (installed 18 months - 2 years ago), 3. they wouldn't verify themselves and said that I could call back to find out what it was about. Since my bills are paid and everything is working I'm good. Maybe they should place back the recording for training purposes to see where they went wrong....

Call time from this number was at 1721 (5PM) which I consider out of business hours for a company to be calling me. I didn't answer but there appears to be a rather conflicted consensus on whether or not it is a scam. If anyone has more info please post

They keep calling me to connect the NBN at my work premises. We had the mis-fortune of having it installed 12 months ago. The installers managed to disconnect 4 out of five of my telephone lines and caused my company a huge loss of revenue(around $1,000.000.00)
