This number: (02) 8219 9973 is ringing me every day, maybe once to three times a day! And after reading the comments above, I've come to the conclusion that they are probably annoying telemarketers who are trying to sell me stuff.
NO THANKS, I'm not picking up any if their calls! In fact before I block their number from calling me, I'm going to annoy them a bit longer by letting their phone calls ring out for another week! Give 'em a taste if their own ANNOYING medicine!!!
This is harassment & should be against the law.
Anyways to everyone reading this, if this is happening to you, I suggest you block their number of your phone (if you have a smart phone with the blocking feature) & if you can't do that, maybe just answer & tell them to f$&k off! (Excuse my language, but it's fustrating, so if you like maybe say it politely!)
And that's my advice!

Have had a couple of calls from this number, no voicemail message left. Luckily the iPhone has a function to block numbers - ie no more annoying calls!!!

Have had innumerable calls about research projects from this number in recent months. I am on the do not call register, but now include the number in my contacts list as "do not answer TM". That way I know how often they try me and I just don't answer. They never leave a message and you might say I'm surveying the surveyor. May they choke on it!

So I emailed as many people at this company as I could. In the end they have offered to remove my number from their lists, but you will see from the email I have copied below, they have managed to get themselves exempt from the"Do not call" register. So unless you tell them with your number specifically to remove your number, apparently you are fair game.

Please note that as a Market and Social Research company our organisation is exempt from the Do Not Call Register (see point 15 here https://www.donotcall.gov.au/faqs.cfm). In understand how this can be misleading as it is not actively communicated that there are many exemptions to this register.

I have received numerous calls - which i have not answered. I called back and it went to messagebank for a market research company.

Survey company. Annoying twats.

I had 2 calls from this number (02) 8219 9973 which I ignored since I don't know anyone in NSW. Called the number back and it went to a recorded message about a research company. Don't bother picking up if you see them calling.
I've now blocked their number :)

Also received calls from this number, despite being on the do not call register!

So every week I get calls from this number and a lot of the time I'm up a ladder painting, and the other day when I went to answer the mobile I dropped the bloody paint can all over the floor. The people just hung up. Usually when I answer this number, they hang up. I'm sick of them. I should sue them for the mess I had to clean up!

I missed a call from this number and after using reverse look up discovered it is time wasters doing a survey or what ever,, I cant wait for them to ring back so I can give them a blasting and let off some steam. Thanks Reverse Australia , u have a great system.

Got the same phone call last night (22/09/2014) saying they were conducting a survey on behalf of NSW police. The male person said "it is possible that we've selected a number that is not in NSW, can you confirm your state of residency for me?" When I said Qld, they apologised and abruptly hung up before I could query what it was they wanted to know.

A***holes!

They claimed to be doing a drink druving survey of NSW . We live in QLD!

I had a call from (02) 8219 9973 and when I answered, the girl just said it was a wrong number and hung up. I called the number back and it went to a recorded message from a research company. I have now saved this number under "Telemarketer" so if they call again I'm not wasting my time by answering it.

Got a call from this number. Answered it first time, some guy from 'University of Woolongong' asking about a drink in surgery and looking for youngest man in the house over 18. Told him he wasn't here. He asked when to call back and I said monday. He rang again today (Monday). It was a different guy asking about the same thing. Told him we didn't do over the phone surveys and before I finished my sentence he hung up!

Traverner Research.  We are on the Do Not Call list/register as well and they are ringing everyday but do not leave a message.  There number was unrecognizable so we don't answer.
