I have received a few calls from this number and everytime I have answered the call they have hung up on me, so today I decided to call the number back and I heard a recorded message saying something about OnePath life insurance. I will now be adding my number to the Do Not Call Register

They're still hammering away at my wife's phone, will tell ANZ I'll shift my loans elsewhere if they don't piss off.

More telemarketers probably not even really in this country. This is pathetic and ridiculous more so in this case I am already with the ANZ. so I already get mail with their offers. I think I will make a call to the bank as well as other means to get off their call list.

Today I received I call from (02) 8217 8051, which I heard ringing in my mobile. As it tooks some seconds for me to answer it, when I select the Answer button, I did notice that instead of someone being responding me, the call back in some way has been activated to 'call out mode' ring back to their number, as I could hear the ringing on the other side, as if I have done the call in the first place. ON the screen of my mobile it shows both calls the one that came in from (02) 8217 8051 and the one that went out to (02) 8217 8051, WITHOUT ANY IMPUT OR ACTION FROM MY PART! Aware that it was to connect me I canceled the call before someone had responded. It is a swindling and malicious way to take money from people by making call charges on behalf of others. I searched on the internet about this number and lot but lot of people has suffered same experience without a way on how to STOP it. I did researched the number in the internet, am surprisingly this number has been reported hundreds of time on various sites of doing such action. As it looks NOBODY has yet taken them down and are doing swindle business as usual at expenses of people's money. I reported to both the QLD Ombudsman & Optus Complains. IF some one has three calls registered from this number, that is enough for the Service Provider to lodge a legal complain and report to Police

ok i am sufficiently SICK & FED UP of these stupid monkeys
been averaging 2-3 missed calls from this number (02) 8217 8051 daily for past fortnight
tried this today when phone was in hand when it rang...
1, answer & listen, don't say anything... you're "in queue" anyway
2, wait for a couple of clicks... till the autodialler connects your call to a human
3, when human says first word just YELL INTO YOUR PHONE LOUD whatever you wish to tell them
4, JUST KEEP YELLING for 5-10s then hangup.
no more Mr Nice Guy, i'm now out to get even + Interest! (since you guys say they're bank related hey?)
btw just checked my Call History on the phone, counted SEVEN (7) calls from (02) 8217 8051 since Tuesday. Heck its not even COB Thursday now!
GRRRR!!!
now i'm even angrier... maybe should call them back & YELL AT THEM SOME MORE!!

This number have been calling 5 days a week 2-3 times a day when i pickup it hangs up. Have tried calling back but it goes dead as soon as answered or stops after 2 rings. After reading the other comments i will be calling ING to get my number off the list.

received two calls so far and they hang up the minute I answer. Figured it was some sort of telemarketer - guess the one calling me isn't smart enough to figure out which button to press!
on another note - whenever I get hold music (or that pause that you know means they were dialling you while talking to someone else) on picking up the phone, I wait for them, let them do the whole spiel, then tell them that i probably would have gone ahead, but being put on hold by the person calling me has got me in a bad mood and to not bother calling again. Makes me feel better and holds them up long enough to stop them calling one other person!

Just got a call from this number - said he was from "One ..." something that is linked to ING and wanted to tell me about 6 benefits I was entitled to as a result of a survey I filled in 2 YEARS AGO!!! I told him I did not remember filling out a survey, was not interested and hung up. LOL.
