yep - thought it was a scam too. I rang virgin customer service number and enquired about the call - yes it was from their sales team - they transferred me to the original guy who had called me who confirmed his call to me and yes I will be getting the $30 free credit!

well they called me today to give me free $30 credit. pretty happy!
