My phone rang today at 1305 hrs and as i was nearby, I immediately answered only to discover that I had been placed on hold,with moronic recorded message from some guy with an abysmal American accent.His message told me that "'we' know how important your time is and although there might be a short delay in answering your call, it is very important to us and we want to speak with you personally. We will be with you briefly". This was followed almost immediately by another recorded message this time from a female with an equally abysmal American accent. She told me a different but equally moronic and insulting message and assured me that all of their customers receive the same personal service and 'my call' would be answered shortly. I was doing other things so I had the phone on speaker because i was intrigued to find out what organization could be so incompetent in their search for new customers. The 2 recorded messages were replayed constantly with a pause of about 8 seconds between each. This went on for 25 minutes until young sounding man came on the phone to talk to me. He had an extremely heavy accent and I had to get him to spell out all the words that he spoke to me. By and large I did all the talking and asked him a sequence of questions. What was the company name? A. Astron. Where was the company? A.1/3 Victoria Ave Chatswood (Sydney). What was the company involved in? A. Telecommunications. I then told him what had happened with the call and that I could noty believe that any company could attempt to conduct its business in such an incompetent (and probably unlawful) manner. I told him that I would make a formal complaint and intended to take up the matter with the appropriate authorities. He hung up.

Tony you're a bloody beauty! I will be harrasing that number as much as they do me... idiots!

they are not a scam I use them for my nbn connection they are pretty cheap actually.

The number was answered by a foreign sounding female and she said I must have been called by their telemarketing group.
I wish they would understand some people sleep in the day and have answering machines for this purpose. Anyway now that I know - they will never be able to get a sale out of me.
The number has been blocked from my phone...

I have been getting calls from these people 2 & 3 times a day for more than a month. I resent having to have a customer wait while I answer a call and then they hang up.
On the occassions when they do answer they will not listen when told I do not wish to deal with them. Today I actually hung up on them.

I have been getting calls from this number several times a day for the last week. I never answer (thank you, CND) but it is very irritating.

These guys are harrasing me, they wont give me a break, they keep on calling and never stop

I have been getting these calls also. Rang it back and the recording said "welcome to astron communications" for technical support dial one etc. Googling this name I find they are a phone company.

They just called me on my old number.. haven't told many places other than my friends of my new number.

Just got a call from this number with an offer regarding my phone.  I live in WA. The salesperson on the line knew that Telstra was our (telephone) service provider.  After she started in on the spiel,  I interupted, wished her seasons greetings and ended the call!

I keep getting calls from this number!!! I tried answering twice but no one was there.  Getting so sick of it and I'm not about to call them back!!!

These people have called me 5 times today.  I asked to speak to the supervisor and a gentleman came on saying he is the senior supervisor.  I told him theyve called me 5 times already this morning and he hung up on me.

Got a number of missed calls from this number throughout the day... didn't leave any messages. When I did pick up, a person with a strong accent (oddly named "Wilson", yeah right that's his real name) spoke and told me that I have been "select" to receive a free Nokia mobile phone.... as long as I sign up to a 24-month contract. Promptly told him I was not interested.

Hate telemarketers! I especially hate it when they say I have been "selected". We all know they just call off a big list of phone numbers!
