It's Sykes Australia. It's a call centre for several businesses, including Westpac.

Take it from someone who works for the telephone company and who has traced the numbers that this is an outsourced call centre which actually has several clients. It is not simply Telstra, Optus, Jetstar etc...it could be any one of them or someone.

I have call from this number it say "hey are you Mr. G*****" i say "no" and then it hang up. Mister very rude to me. I dont like it.

I have a tendency to rant and rave because I am a telemarketer protecting my job. I wish I had a real job but once they see my resume and they see I am a telemarketer I am showed the door. Poor me.

Sample complaints we have found for (02) 8198 6900

Hi guys and girls

I have contacted the company that owns this Phone Number and the Company is called Sykes Australia and they are a Out-Bound Call Centre they are located at
I was told by a lady by the name of Brenda who said that they do not get the Do Not Call Registry List so how are they ment to know who to call and who not to call well I said to her that they should follow the law and get the list and stop hassling people who don't want to be hassled... So she gave me the following contact details of this company if I wanted to make a complaint I would have to do it in writing.
So please Guys and Girls please contact this company and stop them in their tracks as many will contact them the better hopefully they will stop hassling everyone (((wishful thinking))) we all can hope

Its a company that says they are optus asking to change to a new plan. they take a long time to answer back like 10 seconds real unprofessional.I tell them to leave me alone but they still call. Philipino and Indians. One of them kept calling me repeatedly for 5 minutes because i told him to get lost.I really hate optus for using them or having anything to do with them. Makes me hate them. Any1 who says this company isnt fradualent must work for them,.

(02) 8198 6900 is a external call centre that makes calls for comapnies like Optus which I have received a call from this number 3 weeks ago but today I received a call from this number today but they said that they were from 1300 Insurance (1300insurance.com.au) so they are a external call centre.I talk to a lady called Brenda who said she was from India and she said that they work for a  number of companies.I am on the Do Not Call Register it does not seem to work does it???

Ah bugger - that explains why they still call me despite my being on the DNC - I'm an Optus customer so they're allowed to.

Just lodged a complaint about these calls as today they tried to call me before hours- they might not be aware of the time difference (am in WA) but that is their problem, not mine. Will see how it goes.
