Sometimes there is a funny side to these stories too! While in Antarctica, on an Australian Station, I had one year at least two or three such calls, in the middle of the night. Again obvious true- or semi-scammers. Once I got them to just wait a moment. Every few minutes I checked back and they were still on the line, talking amongst themselves in an Asian language. One time the stayed online for more than half an hour. It sure would have cost them a pretty penny.

(02) 8103 2093 - This number called me out of the blue. It seemed an overseas call center, so I hung up on them.

"they got cheesed off because you cost them money playing with them if they think you are giving then the information you want then it is worth holding onto the call"

They keep calling about a car accident I had 1 year ago and I have never been in a car accident my whole life, when I said this is a scam they got really annoyed with me and kept trying to tell me I had been in an accident, they called at 7:11pm on a Saturday night as well which is a massive red flag.

They called me today claiming to be in CTP claims and asking if I had been in an accident, then talked about people not aware of having CTP insurance BS. Definitely block this number, everyone who drives is aware of CTP, definite scam

Caller: No one Everyone commenting who has been contacted via this phone number and actually spoken to someone, try again with your phone recording the call and ask for the agents name, company name, act interested if you have to just keep the call going longer than 30seconds... And then go to telecommunications ombudsman, This is Australia- fraud is one of the biggest crimes you can commit here🤙

They called me today and said I had an accident in the last 12 months - couldn't tell me where or when and have no details about the car involved or anything - They are "accident survey" - she said. Scam for sure. I kept questioning who they are and where the information about the alleged accident came from. They hung up. I called back and get message that Optus advise the number is disconnected. I had no accident I was overseas for the last year and a half and had no car!

The scam is that if you were injured in this accident they will give you 10 - 15K for your injuries - cue identity theft now! I played along the last time to find out what it is they want and this is the outcome. The caller, when I called them out as scammers called me a Motherf#$%er, I felt proud that I'd scammed the scammer!!
