I entered my phone number into the iPrimus website to get a comparison on insurance policies. This number called me up a few hours later. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

Read an article on News.com.au saying that Australian phone numbers can be purchased by overseas companies which is why they have 02 and 03 area codes. I feel they should not be allowed to do this. I got a call from this number today but as I am on the don't call register, they should not be allowed to call. Obviously they ignore the register.

An insurance company (?), saying I had had a car accident which was no fault of mine in the last five years. Not true! Then they hung up with a "surprised", 'Oh sorry.' Indian accent.

Got a call from this number. Answered. Asked about the accident thing over last couple of years. Which I actually had an accident November 2017. Told me I could claim injury stuff if I had been injured. Up to 35k. Told him I wasn’t injured and had nothing to claim. Was really pushy on getting doctors certificates etc etc. said he’d call back in an hour...yeah, nah miss me with that sh*t.
Looked up phone number just to confirm suspicions. Read comments on here. Tried calling back ‘your call could not be connected’.
So yeah. Blocked the number. Brings tally up to about 20 blocked numbers now.

Said that I had an motor vehicle in the last two years, I said no. Then asked if anyone in my family had an accident in the last two years, also said no. Asked how they got my number, said it was in a "Motor vehicle accident registry". I then asked if they could remove my number and they advised if I haven't had an accident in the past two years then they will remove it. Blocked!

I received a missed call message from (02) 8103 2093, I called the number back from a private number and it said 'Optus regrets that this number has been disconnected' however when I called it from my mobile number it connected. Why don't Optus disconnect it!!! All SPAM numbers once reported should be disconnected.

I answered the call, was told that 'someone from this phone number has lodged a motor vehicle accident claim', I said, incredulously "Really, this is my phone, I am the only one who uses it, and I haven't had an accident, this call is now being recorded ..." She then denied saying that I had had an accident and hung up. When I rang back, the number is disconnected, or at least they use the Telstra disconnected message on their answering machine, tricky.
