Received the same message on my answering machine.I am a registered tax agent and speak with the ATO regularly, This guy does not sound like anyone from The Tax Office, quite apart from the fact the speech was stilted; I was not identified by name. As someone pointed out, the Tax Office do not ring taxpayers without having sent a letter beforehand. If they are genuine they identify themselves by name.Major temptation to call back and threaten legal proceedings.

This douchebag called late last month and the other day, left similar message on answering machine at home. When I've got some spare time or I'm bored at work I'll call and play with them!

Same message left on answering machine from male claiming to bed "Jason O'Connor" . Same call back number (02) 8103 2027. Obvious scam (especially when followed up with another call from a female with ?Indian accent . Very worrying for elderly to get this scam. Surely this stuff is illegal . Must contravene our communication laws.

Same as everyone else. What a load of BS. Jason O'Connor doesn't have a very Jason O'Connor type of accent, clearly a scripted coversation as he left the message THREE times on three different days and said the very same thing verbatim! Threatening call, warrant for arrest, tax evasion etc., which is such nonsense. Who do you report this kind of thing to so that who ever is behind it gets a slap??

What an interesting phone call. He said, Adam Smith, was from the ATO and there was an illegal allegation against me. He then went on to wanting to have sex with me. In the end I hung up and he rang back again. Told him to meet me at the Police Station ??? What a nong!!!

Received 2 calls on my mobile which went to message bank, as well as a call at home. Same BS about owing Tax Office money and I was going to be arrested by "police department in your town'.

Just got a call from this number. (message on voicemail) "Jason O'Connor from the Australian Taxation Office". Said I would be arrested for tax evasion. I rang back... it as very busy got some guy telling me I'd rung the ATO but they needed my home number. Funny cause they rang on my mobile and when I questioned if they were really the ATO he went quiet and didn't say a word. There was lots of noise in the background.
