I mistakenly believed this to be a scam after reading the comment here but as it turned out the calls are legitimate & from AGL. When a bill is a few days overdue rather than post you a reminder they have this automated the service as a "reminder".

Certainly a worrying trend if this is as said a scam. The calls (three within 5 hours) "claim" to be from AGL. An automated voice ask you to confirm your "read out" first & second name, it then goes on to ask you to input details such as date of birth.
Having read here that it is a scam I did not proceed further. I can only assume it is an information harvesting scam. It certainly sounds convincing & is very professional & high tech. Maybe someone can confirm this is a scam as it most certainly appears to be?

They were asking for my d.o.b, and they also knew my birth year and wanted me to confirm the day and month. I entered different day and month but the automated voice said it does not match their record!!! What da!!!! Hobos got all

Scam automated call reportedly from 'AGL'. Ignore it. They also send SMS/TEXT from 0416 905 141 saying Gas or Electricity bill(s) are 'overdue' & please call 1300 658 955. Classic scam.
