Caller: Said that it was Amazon

Said I'd been charged for some gift cards on a temporary account which had been set up in my name. It was an Indian voice coming from a Sydney number - and I know that Amazon's warehouse is in Dandenong Victoria.

He wanted to put me through to a "server" that had all my details but wanted to know what type of device I was using to call from.

At this point I hung up

Scammers pretending to be Amazon taking money out , apparently a Wang Shu from Beijing hacked account , assoles !!

I have had a series of calls from a Sydney number.
(02) 8091 7482 (3 x calls)
One of them had +61 prefix?

They leave the same message each time, with different voices each time.

They are from Amazon and are concerned that my credit card has been used to purchase a series of “gift cards”.
They believe that it is a fraudulent transaction, they just want to check my card numbers.

They sound like they are genuinely being helpful.

Got a call from this number, Didn’t take it. They left me a message about purchasing $ 249 Gift card!!!
Called them back, was a lady asking me my name?! I said you are from Amazon and you got my phone number, so you should know my name as well!
She just hung up.
What do they think ?! We are stupid or what?!!

Definitely a scam I too have never purchased from Amazon

got a weird text msg advising that $250 was being taken from my account for an "E-Bay Gift Card". Called (02) 8091 7482 and spoke to an ADAM. Apparently someone in China had ordered this (!!). it wasn't me, he asked me to put my phone on speaker and would talk me through how to get the charge reversed. It's a scam. He was going to tray nd get password details, yada yada. DxxxHxxxs.
