This is totall SCAM!!! Please be aware!!! Received a call today advising from Reclaim Dept of Australian Government and gave me a reference BC619 to call back on (02) 8091 4944 with heavy foreign accent saying his name is John Johnson and his supervisor names Rebecca Brown and Katrine Douvlaf!!! People please don't fall for it and never give out your DOB or bank details! Your name and address is available as it is public notice and freely available anywhere! These people need to be stopped! Damned Scammers!!!!!!!!!

Called my wife with a dodgee story about gov refund for fees incurred on bank accounts. They also told her they had mailed her on the 30th Oct. She told them to re-snail mail details. Unfortunately my wife gave them her birth date but not bank account details.

I had a call 2pm on 30/10/13 to claim monies overcharged saying they were the Finance Dept of Australian Federal Govt. I had to call (02) 8091 4944 and quote a reference no for them to send me a cheque. Don't fall for it!!!!

I rang the number back, quoted reference VR28. When They asked for my name I told them I was from the local police station. They didn't respond after that!

Rang offering a refund for overcharges from bank fees via the Reclaim department of Australian federal government, this prompted my suspicions immediately. It's a scam

I had a call today from an unknown number and was given this number to call back and speak to Rebecca Brown and quote a reference number they gqave me to receive a refund of $5248 from the Federal Government. They had some of my personal details but I refused to give them my date of birth. I have reported this number to scamwatch.

Yep, had same call today, when I mentioned this web page &scam, she rung up on me. Beware!!!!!!

Same deal as the others on this page. Saying I was born in 1923 didn't seem to deter them. Kept them busy a while. They called from a private number but provided the number 028091944 to call them back on.

Same call as the above. Wanting my bank details & D.O.B. for refund $5248 overcharge by my bank. Also I needed to pay tham $199.00 for solictors fees... I stated I dont think so. They hung up. I rang the number back, I could hear"Peter" in the back ground. I asked when would my cheque be sent...funny they just hung up again.
These people need to be arrested, I have reported them to the Federal Police. You should all do the same.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!! They called me saying they were from the federal government giving a cashback refund for overcharges made to my account over the past year. To the value of $5248. They then asked me to verify my date of birth and asked if I would like it sent via direct debit or by cheque. They will ask which branch you bank with. I asked them for their name and identification number. I then asked what their real name was as they spoke with a very heavy accent. i told my date of birth is 05/07/1975 (Some fake). The guys says if i dont call in the next 2 min.then there is every chance u loose the money.

I received a similar call today asking for my date of birthandbank details. Why is this scam allowed to continue?

SCAMMERS!!! Call from a private number and tell you to ring this number with a reference number they give you. I'm owed $5248 in overcharges apparently and the Federal Government are repaying all the overcharges! If only it was that easy to get that much cash back!!!

I had a call and they said the exact same thing and that I should call them back on the same number with a reference number. I have not called.
