Got the usual BS re Telstra technician. Said his name was Max William Telstra IDD737935. Wanted me to run 'cmd' on my computer then type in 'assoc' (which I didn't). I told him give me yr # and I will ph Telstra to verify that you are an employee. He said Telstra does not have the names of employees in the Technical Dept... what a joke! The call was passed to 2 different 'supervisors' because I through them into questions they couldn't answer, before I just hung up on the idiots.

Another of these Indian hoaxers who want to get into my computer by saying they need to delete files that could be damaging my system. As you know the Aust Govt has no aggressive policy to stop this. What we need is some bright nerd to figure out a way to block their calls - perhaps a piece of code or a box that plugs into a handset that senses the number or international codes or even accents (?). Perhaps a button on the device that can be pressed during a call to capture a sound bite and file it to a RAM chip. when the caller calls again you press a button and the device searches for a match and terminates the call with a warning that the voice print is being sent to police.
Surely there must be some smart bugger out there who can beat these bastards with some ingenious system. Them telcos and the Fed Govt are too incompetent and slow here.
Perhaps a lawyer could help exploit a legal loophole to help the hacker in how this could be done -- even illegally if necessary to force the goverment's hand.
Sell it internationally on the net and make a fortune!

Had a number of calls from this mob. Names given were Shaun Davis Telstra ID D325914, David Parker and Christine De Zouza. all stated that they were from Telstra IT, Christine being a supervisor. Also gave me the 133933 number. Same as every one else, internet problems and they would cut of the internet. Telstra can't do anything about it, but one way around this crap is by getting a bar put on incoming International calls. Good western names with the Asian accent.

Same as all these posts. Claimed to be from Telstra and that my internet service was being corrupted with malware by hackers. I asked for the number to call back, then looked this up on ReverseAustralia. You could hear the call centre noise in the background and then accent was a dead give away

Just had one of these guys call me. I gave him another number to ring but he said that I had given hime 8 digits when it needs to be 9. I told him he was an idiot and was not even in Australia. He hung up and tried to ring the number then called back to say no one was answering. (Someone would have been there because it was a police station number.) He carried on for a while then I told him that he had given me enough time to have his number traced and the police would be onto him. He said that it needs to be 6 minutes for the number to be traced so I asked him how he knows that. He said that they teach that in grade two and that the police would be after me as I have unlicensed programs on my computer. I denied it so he said "You think you are funny don't you." then swore at me.

Now to call the Australian Federal Police Fraud Department and dob them in.

I also received a call from this wanker who claimed to be from telstra tech dept. But the call was from numbers like 028091,400013. He also gave me a call back number which is (02) 8091 4906 because I was in the middle of something. He called me again to see why I didnt call back.... lol then I checked the number because I have direct numbers to Telstra. However he called me back again and I said I will contact Telstra and he threatened me that my connection will be lost in half an hour... so I asked a simple question to him: "which province of pakistan are you from?" lol ... keep your guard guys... if anything, contact your service provider directly

One of my customers received a call from "Gavin Brown from Telstra" who claimed they had a large file on their computer, and that they would need to connect to their computer to fix the problem.
Thankfully they decided they would rather get their usual IT guy to take a look at it.
