We've received numerous calls from this number and also (08) 9467 4216 asking about an accident that someone has had in the last two years at this number. Nope. They're calling our business and have no further information (name, car details etc). SCAM!

A male with an Indian or Pakistani accent called and said that he was from the Accident Investigation team and someone at this number had an accident recently. I said that's not correct mate and hung up. This is a private number and when I called the 02 number back, I got a message "this call cannot be connected".

I am taking on the strategy of not answering my phone and then do the *10# to get the incoming number. If I know it, I immediately ring the person back. This number was unknown and this site helped. I have heard that on these computer scam rings, if no answer on picking up your phone, to immediately start pressing all sorts of numbers on your phone as this confuses their computerized system not recognizing the number input and rejects it off its list.

Annoying!! Have rung our phone at exactly the same time very early every day 6.50am for weeks!! When I am in bed!! By the time I stagger to the phone...they have generally have given up on me! Now they are calling at 11.40am. We have a silent number too, but I understand it is just a computer that dials random numbers and when it connects they get lucky!! We are on the 'No Call Database' but this only works with companies in Australia making it an offence to call someone who is listed on this database ....Cranks/ Overseas calls do not adhere to this ...so I guess it will continue... I think I will pretend I am the one who had a no fault accident, and see how much of their time I can waste!

Just got this call at work. Same lame line as others here have been told. I told the guy that unless he told me something credible I wouldn't give him any information. He hung up.

So glad I found this site, I thought it may have been scammers. He asked me if I or anyone else in my family had been in a car accident, when I said no, they asked me if I was sure.......

This number has become a nuisance claiming that someone at our number has been admitted to accident and emergency. It is a Sydney number and we live in Perth. The number is (02) 8091 4668. Oh! No one in our family drives a motor car. All of our numbers are on the Government do not call list - Ho Ho Ho! Totally meaningless. Like just about everything this government does, it is all PR spin.

Had a call from the number (one of many recent ones) I told them I had an accident in April 2015 and was not at fault. She asked for details and I told her my brother was driving and was alone. She asked to speak to him. Told her he was interstate and I couldn't contact him as he had a new phone and I didn't know the number but would ask him to call as I expected to hear from him later today. Told me his name was John McKay and gave me the (02) 8091 4668 number. I tried to call a few times but it was busy. At least I had the satisfaction that I had used the time when I would otherwise have been napping to hold him on the phone for 5 minutes or so.

Don't know why they're not being dealt with. I'd do it with a gun. They don't "get" your number. All numbers can be auto-dialled on a whim, like when kids mash the numbers to make a prank call.

An Indian phoned he said he was a from a law firm about a car accident by someone in my household. I said there was only me and my dog in the household, I may be old but I'm not stupid and would remember if I had had an accident and my dog doesn't drive - he hung up.

I have had these calls on and off over the past year. Eventually an American sounding woman rang and I responded with a "maybe" when she asked about a recent not-at-fault accident. She stated that I had been without my car for a while as a result of the accident and sought agreement to that. She then said that not many people knew that they were entitled to compensation. I said I didn't feel comfortable with the call and hung up. She then unsuccessfully rang back a further 4 times and eventually got onto my mobile number I think because she listened to my answering machine when I didn't answer. With the disclosed number on my mobile, I didn't answer. Then a call came on the mobile with a hidden number. I answered, and when I heard it was her I said that this was an unsolicited call; that I did not want to converse with her; and that I would be reporting it. With that she hung up and I haven't had a call since. I am on the 'do not call' list, and would like to know how she got my number.
