Caller: ATO Scam call

Computerised voice following the old script of claiming to be from the Australian Tax Office and saying that a "law suit for fraud" had been "taken out against" me. The language was all wrong, both in terms of grammar and the way we refer to legal processes in Australia. Not to mention the processes that dealing with the ATO follow.

This is one of the common scams floating around and is well documented, but it was unusual in that this one called my mobile. Normally these only happen on the landline. The scammers must have upgraded their phone plan!

I have blacklisted the number and I encourage others to do so also.

I called back number (02) 8091 1716 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

Scam. Automated voice left message "a lawsuit is getting filed under your name" with number to call back.
