Caller: ATO

Identical experience to Natalie that there were serious errors in my tax return and to "Press 1" to speak urgently with someone about it otherwise serious consequences including being arrested. I simply hung up but next time I think I'll play along with it (like Natalie) and have some fun!!!

Caller: ATO

They rang me and said they were from the ATO and that there were errors in my tax returns. They said that I owe $7990.00 and that they were arresting me today. I was going to jail for 5 years. I went along with it and even gave them my accountants name and number which they rang in front of me. Then they said that my accountant was going to call me and I got a call from my accountants landline! The guy on the other end was telling me he was my accountant but with an Indian accent! Oh my. This was gold. I said, “Michael! What’s happened to you? You WERE Australian but now you’re Indian?” Needless to say, he hung up. Priceless.

this number called me , wouldn't say anything . i called back optus advised that the number is disconnected .. my phone is now having major issues .. like its some sort of hack call!

It's just a classifieds website they just want people to see there website I wouldn't say scam I'd say more phone canvassing

I got a few calls from this number but couldn't answer them. When I tried calling them back , nobody answered. So this scam is still alive and kicking in 2016. Stuff them , I have blocked their number now.

They get your details off Gumtree then offer a "free" advert on their website (backpage) that ad is free, but you pay for others and any contact

Called us about 10x straight after each other

Phoned twice. When I rang back there was a message saying number attended to at the moment. Number did not leave a text or voice message.

They keep calling me to post my ad on their website. I told them not to call me. I told them I will call police, but they did not listen.

Called and tried to give me the spiel on listing on their website etc etc

Hung up and blocked them after calling me several times more

Called today. Said they found my ad on Gumtree and wanted to send me an email regarding free advertising on their website. Told them I wasn't interested and hung up. Now on the block/do not answer list. :)

Got a call from this number but missed it. Tried to call back several times and only met an answer machine. I left a message to call me again but no one bothered. So they can be kicked off

Rang waning to post our business info on web page, I politely said "no thanks" he rang back and continued I un-politely told him "no". He then tried to call back 2 more times so I answered phone and remained silent … far out where do these people get off
