Scam Watch told me to block international calls. That will put a stop to the calls coming from India.

1 July 2011 at night, Indian lady called about computer viruses, I kept her and then her supervisor going for a full 28 minutes pretending I knew nothing about computers (I am a tech) and that it was my sister's computer. They BSed on about viruses, etc, tried to get me to connect to a web site to remote access.
I pretended to get error messages until finally telling the supervisor that Nortons had come up with a message, "what message?" he asked, I said "The dialog box on Nortons says An @-hole scammer trying to steal your money has been detected and you have had heaps of fun wasting his time" .......CLICK. Hopefully I kept Ranjit off other poor suckers for a while.

I have received numerous calls from this number as well as some from a number with-held but displays overseas. Sounds like the same operator. Calls started before 7am on a sunday and then kept going every hour!! woke my son up from his morning sleep. i wasnt happy or very polite when i answered the first time for the ovrseas number and the first one for the 02.. number. I just ignored the rest and it eventually stopped.

I've had calls from this number a few times too. Always comes up on my caller ID but I've never been home to answer it. Next time I get it I will call Telstra to block it.

Yep, same call, noted missed calls from (02) 8091 0006 over last few weeks, finally picked up. dodgy dodgy dodgy. Said from Computer Technician needed to fix a warning on my computer and I had to turn it on, and click on window for them. I was very evasive and kept saying tell me more. Then I said computer currently not available, and they hung up. Lovely Indian Accent. The ACCC has info on this scam and what they do. Advise hang up. Google ACCC computer for more.

Just got a call from this number saying they were doing a survey with everyone in the area, Absolute Services, for statistical info. Asked qu such as do you own your home, what industry do you work in, salary range etc...Asked my first name then spelt out a last name and asked if it was mine. When I said no, she was quick to say I am done with this call. When I asked again where she was from, said Absolute Service in Paramatta...

I had that recently where they called me from an unknown number so i asked for the number they were calling me from first then they proceeded to tell me my computer had a problem - i tried to get them to tell me exactly what problem i had with the computer and which part of the programme had the issue (considering i am running off a mac) and they just disconnected the call

Had a call from an Indian accented guy from this number at 12-30pm today. He said (I think) that he was doing a survey to see if I was happy with my bank and called me by my surname. He asked whether I was happy with my bank and I replied yes.
He then asked how long I was with my bank and I told him. He then asked for the name of the bank and I told him. He then asked for my first name and I knew it must have been a scam. I told him that and he hung up.

Yeah on the 19-4-2011,got a call on the home phone, saying he needs my help with getting a contract and asked me for $17,000,i had spoken to this guy before ,first time on the Phone (Eric/Donald Jerkins he also goes by the last name of Smith,he sounded very much like Nigerian.I gave him $100 in 2010 thinking he was desperate for help then i didnt hear from him until now.

Person who does not speak good english continues to phone and says he's from Windows Support in Southbank Melbourne and tells me I have a computer virus. My 15 year old son answered the phone and fell into the trap of believing this idiot. He ended up taking over my sons laptop, but said he required a credit card number to fix the problem. He phoned back after I arrived home and I told him what I thoughtl. The colourful language he replied with was so disgusting. I couldn't believe what I was listening to. Please don't give these people the time of day, they are scum.
