The "you will be arrested" tax scam is still doing the rounds

ATO scam

saying that they are from ATO, be careful, SCAM

Rang claiming to be from ATO, name was 'John Williams". Said I had legal issues with ATO. When asked to verify that he was who he said he was, he hung up.

Claimed to be an ATO rep. Stated I would be arrested and asked who would represent me in the “Commonwealth Court”

Left a voicemail in a robot voiceover saying to follow up on the call before the police show up at my house or place of work.. what a f*cking scam

They called me today, a person with a very strong Indian accent, saying that they want to give me some tax back. He said it was office somthing, something.. from the ATO headquarters in Sydney and he actually provided the address hahaha.. I could hear more people in the background..

Multiple calls from this number - takes a few seconds for the call to connect.

Claims to be calling from the ATO, they have an arrest warrant in my name. Asked if I have a lawyer that could represent me in the Commonwealth Court. I said I would find one. They hung up.

"ATO" Scam BEWARE

Says they are from the tax office.. one wanting to fine me for fraud, the other wanting to give me a tax refund.

Bogus call, hang up.

Total scam. Called them back and "played dumb". They hung up when they could not answer my questions.
