just called my home fone. so i decided to ring up after reading this thread yet again for yet another number! This is just a call site ringing on behalf of their customers which will remain unknown(B***s***)! This all started for me a few months ago when optus illegaly sold my information to telemarketers!!! i am currently launching a suit against them now!! If anyone keeps getting these calls, record what the operate first says to you and who she claims to be calling from!you DO have a legal right to sue optus for this blunder!!!

My Second call was at 9:40 am this morning(7-3-09)from (02) 8088 1400. This chick on the phone said "Hello I am from The RSPCA NSW" then she said "No Sorry The RSPCA QLD" And then said "Sorry calling from the PCYC" You can imagine the scam alarm bells going off in my head. I said " Oh Yeh you don't even know yourself who you are" She said " No sorry I have been calling people all morning" I then said "sorry you sound like a scammer I am not interested! After I hung up I rang back the two numbers and what do you know! They will not connect. Typed the numbers into Google and here I am. Got to love the internet. This Info is great.I don't know what we can do! Maybe call your local member to get the telecommunications rules changed. It's like those stupid scam sms clubs on TV. $10 week for a partner tracker or is your partner cheating, What colour is a $10note etc. Who uses these services? Get rid of them. Oh well I had my 10c worth.

I too got a call from that number 20-03-08. It would be unusaul for the "police" in NSW to call northern qld.

I was searching for a number, and happen to find this, and it is perfect for my experience, and what an experience it is.

Honestly this company is the worst when it comes to telemarketing and ethics.

My whole experience with these jerks happened a couple of years ago when I supported the New South Wales PCYC. I have had a silent number for some 10 years now and never get calls from telemarketers and I only ever received a call because the PCYC must have passed on my details onto them as their alloted fundraisers.

Since that time I have received endless calls from different charities, which upon investigation and actually talking to one of their agents when I was called for about the 100th time. All are handled by the same Telemarketing call centre “Insight”, (you starting to get the picture?)

I was informed by this agent “who appeared to hold little to no loyalty in protecting the name of this company” That my details are on a “Geo” list. That is because I bought on NSW PCYC, they have used my details, and everyone else’s who bought and have made calling lists of supporters in order to use on their charities, and now use them as a “Geo” hit list of good numbers to call on their other charities because we are more so inclined to give money over the phone.

I have been called by

•    Heart Research Institute (Insight)
•    Kidswish Foundation (Insight)
•    RSPCA (Insight)
•    Queensland PCYC (The idiot operator was pitching the wrong charity to me, as QLD PCYC is also run by insight, I am in NSW and he later corrected the call as being from Kidswish.)

So why would you buy from these jerks and think your details are at risk of being sold, when they simply use it for all their other charities they call for.

I do not know about anyone else, but is not using other people’s details for another charity illegal are their not privacy laws.

I support ‘none’ of these charities now. I supported the PCYC, and my details were used in order to get more money out of my good nature of giving, by having it called for their other charities. Thats just wrong and my support of the PCYC has now ended because of this telemarketing company. Shame on PCYC and shame on this telemarketing company.

I would honestly not give money to any telemarketer now, and especially these people. They will use your details for everything and exploit your good nature.
