When I answered the caller said "I'm calling about your car accident. Did you have a car accident a while back?" When I said no one at this number has had a car accident they were very quick to hang up.

Scammers. I have has this scam many times before. I end up saying to them..."you want money from us rich Australians? Not gunna happen, you scammer." Funny thing is when Indians with the thickest accent start swearing at me in English. More comical than insulting.
Do something Telstra. The only calls I get these days on my landline are overseas scammers. I need the landline for work, but the last six months or so, genuine people just call my mobile.

missed one call, second call I had read above, advised caller that he'd contacted a police station, a quick hang up when I asked if he realised that he was talking to a police officer :-)

How many times do you have to block a call before it sticks? These scam mongers are in a call center so the actual number that shows is not the extension they call from so it will go through every time. I have just resorted to having a list of phone numbers next to my landline to ignore.

I have caller ID so when this number came up I let it go to machine & they hung up. Then I rang back (I have an unlisted number) and got a recorded message saying that the number called is not connected or wrong, please check the number & dial again.....we are on the Do Not Call list & unlisted so how do these people get our number in the first place. So I will never answer when this number comes up!!! It's a SCAM of the highest order....

I've had these FW ring several times before. Asking about car accidents. "Really gave it" to the last caller. Called him everything under the sun. He even gave it back to me. I just laughed in his face. Scammers..

Called about a recent car accident. Strung them along for a few minutes then told them that the car accident was in India about 10 years ago. She then rudely hung up.

Same as above. Had 2 calls 1, male 1 female with foreign accents, call centre noises in the background. First caller said, "Someone from this number had a car accident" Me: "Oh really, what are the details?" Her: "I don't know any details, just the phone number!" Me: "Well ring back you do!" Hung up. Second caller, Him: "Hello, how are you today?" Me: "Who's calling?" Him: "You had an accident and it wasn't your fault right?" Me: "Write to me please." Hung up.
Obviously a scam of some sort, I'm curious to know how it progresses if somebody who's had an accident gets a call and falls for it.
