caller was ringing about a car accident. When I try to ring this number it states it is incorrect on a recording but is not a Telstra recording as per usual. SCAM SCAM. They rang back - organised call centre probing information.

I spoke to Telstra and because these scammers are calling from places like India, Pakistan and various African countries and using inactive numbers over the internet, they can't be blocked. My suggestion is that you play along for a bit, but GIVE THEM NOTHING, not even your name. Play a bit dumb - "Which accident, I've had 2 or 3. String them along, then hit them with "I know you are a scammer and I've activated my tracking program, so......swear at them, laugh, make weird noises or blow a whistle into the phone. They won't complain because they are scammers, but if you do the whistle thing, make sure you take a deep breath first! I hate these people as much as you do, so have a bit of fun at their expense. What are they going to do? Report you to "the authorities"? I don't think so - they'd have to explain why they were calling you. You can have a new number as soon as you call your provider and your old one can be deactivated and the scammers will never know! And YOU WIN!!! I know, I'm horrible, but it's the only way we can get back at them!

Caller, (Indian), claimed I had a car accident.. I let him go on for a few seconds and when he paused during his idiot sheet conversation, I replied with, "that's very interesting,,,I don't drive car or have a licence" - he hung up!

More than 100 calls in a few minutes tying up the whole business & jamming our switchboard. Report this to your provider so they can block these useless time wasters

we are in a very busy retail store and received more than 20 calls from these aresholes in a span of 5 minutes ....... they claim they have info on your recent "car accident" and then they continue to probe you for personal info. We pretty much told them to f off ! but the friggin pricks just keep bombarding calls through.........thought the national block registry was going to stop this sh*t !
