Call him back to keep the issue out of court

I had the same message repeatedly called saying from the Tax Office (the ATO never refer to themselves as the Tax Office by the way...) - and that it was urgent that someone call regarding tax fraud and tax evasion. When I called they asked for my name and tax file number - I said can I have more details on who you are - and then he hung up!
Also - when I phoned the number I got through to the same Indian guy who's been phoning. That's near IMPOSSIBLE when actually trying to ring the ATO. You would go through a long series of options before getting to whichever random person is available.

Call about tax

Indian or Chinese man automated recording regarding tax evasion. He said to ring this number (02) 8073 4473 to settle account out of court. Do not return the call. Ignore!

Similar to above - I receive these weekly and from different numbers. Other number this week is (02) 8880 4466

Had the same issue, 3 times today. Caller asked for a call back on this number.

Received messages. When rang number back, was ATO scam call regarding a fraud investigation and amount owing. Police were to arrest in 30 minutes.
Jenny Smith was the investigator. Had a heavy accent
