Caller: Charity Survey

The caller stated that the company was doing marketing surveys for charities to find out how they were viewed by the public. She asked me if I would consent to finding out how I viewed specific charities from a list (would donate, may donate, would not donate).

I specifically asked her if my personal details (name, phone number etc) would be passed along to any charities for them to call me later and ask for money. She stated that nothing would be passed along to the charities about me. So I did the survey.

Within 5 days of doing the survey I started getting phone calls from the charities that I was asked about asking for me by name. I told each one of these charities that I since they got my information from a deceptive marketing company that I would not donate anything to them no matter the cause. I stated that they should contact their survey company about their deceptive marketing practices and not use them in any future marketing.

I said that I give my money anonymously to charities specifically to avoid letters and calls from charities asking for money that I do not want to give money to. All that happens with charities that you give your information to when donating is that they pass it along to other charities who then call you asking for money.

I bought stuff on TEMU, immediately after I started getting spam phone calls from the numbers I have listed below. Your details will be sold to unsolicited and fake call centres, supposedly calling themselves charities. That is how all the stuff on TEMU is cheap. Here is the list of fake phone numbers that have tried to spam me so far, just in case you get a call from one of them. I have had multiple phone calls from each number, and this started on 25 May 2023 – less than one month has passed since this this post. They are trying to extract details out of you, don't fall for it. As you can see, they are very, very persistent and will cycle through a raft of phone numbers.

I pick up without speaking, within 2 seconds the call ends

2 calls this Saturday morning before 10 am. No msg left. Read the post here from 2018, so I can only assume not much has changed in 3 years. I am now of the firm belief that if an audio msg has not been left, there is nothing to be gained by calling back.

Caller: Fake non profit organisation

A friendly Indian man asking if I could help him with a quick survey. Ok I agreed. Questions that followed became personal and were leading towards my generosity. Quick survey? After 15 minutes I told him to suspend his "survey" because it was going to cost me money. He immediately became unfriendly and rude and when he crudely swore at me I hanged up.

I have also received many spam calls from these numbers recently, having blocked all of the (03) 9961 xxxx ones, the (02) 8073 xxxx have just started. But I haven't purchased anything from TEMU - maybe that was just a coincidence in timing for you.

Caller: Charity

Unsolicited call from a survey charity. I don't have the time to do surveys and I told her so. Undaunted, she still wanted to make smalltalk. I said goodbye and hung up.

This just has to be made to stop, somehow. It's utterly relentless harassment of people in their own homes. If you don't answer a call from one number - I never answer, and no one else should either - or block it, they call the next day using a slightly different one. Yesterday the number they used was (02) 8073 4185.

Caller: Survey Republic

Charity survey. The caller said it would be a quick survey. I told the caller that ir would be really quick as I have done this sort of survey before so I said Good bye. I had a similar call earlier today from Charity Choice & told them the same. It could be the same lot using a different name. If you do the survey expect lots of phone calls from charities.

Nothing has changed. The do not call register doesnt work with these beggars. They started being a pain in the neck but have worked their way further down. Wish I could block them off the house phone. At least mobile are easily blocked.

but this number always rings a few times every week, no message. Just a blank caller with no one on the other end. very frustrating

Caller number unknown did not pick up but answering machine did and of course they do not leave a message checked the number on this site thank you for the info.
If a friend or known contact they would have left a message. Hate the scammy people.
