I got called by this number asking to speak to the owner of the business regarding the Government Solar Rebate which is (according to the lovely lady with the Filipina accent on the other end) closing soon, and she didn't want us to miss out on getting solar for free, and all I had to do was let someone come and visit me tomorrow, as that's evidently when they'll be in my area. Turns out the address they had was somewhere I haven't lived for 15 years, ha! What's more useless than a scammer? A scammer who was so cheap that they bought themselves an out of date list!

I continually receive unsolicited calls from this number: (02) 8073 4110 many times a week, every week.
This number has many other numbers attached to these scam callers which harass me from early mornings at 7am to 8pm, which I stopped answering, as I now recognise the numbers when I received their calls & end their calls on my mobile as soon as they ring. Only sometimes they use a private number to call me & I know this because initially they used a showing number & private number, each time that they call my mobile.
In the early mornings, these scam callers do not leave me any voice mail messages. However, during the day & evening, I receive scam callers that are highly likely calling from an Asian country overseas to us here in Australia, as their phone line is very poor & with static, as they leave me messages to call them back & all speak with heavy accents & quickly hang up when they finish leaving their fast spoken message to me.
They speak very very "fast", with both Asian & Phillipino accents as they leave me voice messages, but they never in their message state the company that they are calling from or to whom: "a name" of the person they are contacting, nor do they state their own names.
Perhaps these scammers speak very fast during their conversation when we answer & when they leave voice mail messages, so that we cannot trace their calls when their call duration is short.
In the initial stages of receiving these calls, they spoke with various heavy accents & asked me for my personal details, which I did not give.
I told them that since they are calling me, I will not offer or volunteer any information to them.
Several times, I told them that if they are genuinely calling from a company, that they should've initiated their contact with me in a formal manner by sending me a letter, if I am to comply (without giving them my address), instead of continually harassing me because any text messages from any claimed company is not formal contact.
I told them that I recognise their scammers behaviour & see their call as harassment, as they state no company name, they do not state their name, nor to date, have I receive a formal letter from whom ever they are.
I assertively tell them not to contact me ever again & do not harass me, as I will report a complaint to the authorities, which I will do by reporting this scam to both ASIC & ACCC, as they have both offered to take these complaints.
I encourage you to please share a more detailed experience that you've had with these scammers, so that other victims such as us also lean & become confident in refusing to give out their personal information, to not be afraid or obligated to answer to unknown callers.
I called this number with my mobile number hidden, just to see how they answer the phone & what company these scammers state they are today, since they have used different tactics to many people.
When I called, there was an automated service, with a Male's voice with Phillipino/American accent who did not say any name of company & saying: "You're call is 'very' important to us, please stay on the line & you'll be transferred to the next available agent." I hung up immediately.
I called twice & got the same result again.
I believe that by us calling their number, as they keep us waiting on the line, they are able to trace our line, somehow gain our phone number & perhaps God knows what details of ours they can achieve to contact us & attempt to scam us, all as we wait on the line, when we call them. So if you call them, please quickly hang up after you hear their message, do not wait on the line.
C'mon Australia, let's continue to help one another.
Thank you.

They hung up as soon as I answered, 3rd time in as many weeks. I called back and they explained they are looking for a reputable business to work with but dodged around the question of who they are.

Caller: Phishing/scam After a delay on answering the phone, a lady with a filipino accent asked if we are accepting new customers for our services. After answering 'always', I asked which of our services was she enquiring about as we had a number and she asked about landscaping - which is totally not what we do. She then asked what services we provide, to which I answered if she knew what business we were, then she would know.

They and others call and I have a belief that if someone calls and does not leave a message then it is either an accidental call, a miss dialed call, a sales call or a scam call!

Yep they haven't left me alone for months, mistakenly I have called back the couple of numbers they have called me on which I think encourages them. I have yelled at them, sworn at them and threatened legal action and going to the police but they still call! I will take Lee's (march 8, 2016) advice and contact ASIC

Trying to spruik solar rebate, even after I told them I rent. The fact that I rent didn't phase them. They tried to book a time to come around and scout out my house for solar, but I hung up when they asked for my address. After I hung up I set the number to be automatically rejected, and good thing I did! Since yesterday morning they have tried to call 8 times!
