I have just spent 3 hours dealing with 6 different " d*ckheads" can I say that word? on the Optus chat line regarding an out of service landline. Was told I had been "escalated" and a case manager would contact me. Up come (02) 8049 2850, checked the number, read the reviews and will not be contacting them now, other providers are looking good.

Caller: (02) 8049 2850 This phone number called me in the afternoon (1.59pm).
I called back and after a couple of rings a pre-recorded message played saying the contact Optus on their generic sales and support lines. The call automatically ended after the message.
I have no idea what happened or if this was legit... but if this page is anything to go by, it wasn't legit.

Caller: It is not Optus They called me 3 times in one morning the third time I answered and they said they were from Optus but there was no reason for Optus to call me. So I messaged Optus on the app and they checked my account and said there were no calls made. Blocked this number

This is an “Optus” scam number, quite possibly by employees of Optus. This is not a bona fide number. I received 6 calls one after the other after making a complaint to Optus about receiving unsolicited nuisance calls from 3 different numbers that afternoon. I also reported to scamwatch as Optus operator sounded dodgy & dismissive when I aired my concerns. Previously had similar problem with them and ended up with a corrupted phone to the point of not being able to use it , and who knows what else... now I have lost phone credit & possibly data. If you care about your privacy and data I strongly suggest make the complaint to scam watch and insist AFP look into it. Then change your service provider and get a new number. Seriously this number is connected to a sophisticated phishing / ID theft / stealing scam

This is Not a legit Optus number. I complained to Optus about receiving 3 suspicious calls within 2 hrs this afternoon ( later turned out they were all disconnected numbers ) & found some phone features on my iPhone 11 had been disabled- all to do with my number ID and messages. After a complaint & being put on hold about 7 times & 2 seperate calls to 2 different “Optus departments” , I discovered the 3 numbers had tried to call me again, even though they are “ blocked” and then I received 6 calls in 2 minutes from this number- (02) 8049 2850. Crooks Scamming Scum infiltrated Optus Phillipines call centre. Block this number & (03) 5127 9449 & 93 51661256 AND report to SCAMWATCH

Caller: Optus It is something to do with Optus but it does seem abit dogey - I was also on live chat and resolved my issue - then got this number calling me saying it was incomplete and i need to get back on live chat... I asked a friend who works at Optus and it is a legit Optus phone number...

Caller: smartfitz same number under smartfitz claiming to be optus and wanting details she rudely informed me that I have no technician calling round as promised hung up as not trusting the call. Shall go through telecommunications ombudsman to fix our internet issues

spoke to Optus Via the chat and registered an internal complaint because the app was playing up. This number called afterwards I did not pick up as it displayed SMARTFITZ ??.

Caller: Smartfitz Was having issues with my internet tonight. Spoke to customer service through the My Optus app. Once it was confimed what the issue was, they closed the dialogue. I then received 2 missed calls between 12.05am and 12.15am. Did not answer

I called back on Saturday as I have had more than enough. No answer!! Surprise, surprise. Now I am unable to remove the message (no message) from my voicemail. What else can I do!! Had a gutful of the thieves!!

Caller: Optus Received call on a Sunday. After a poor connection that kept cutting out every time they mentioned what the call was regarding , and asking for name, DOB and phone number, I got suspicious and disconnected. Called back the main Optus number and found that the call was legitimate, calling about my online order.
