They say they are Optus or working for Optus and tried to sell me a new phone. The lady I spoke to got my surname wrong and told me she rang to inform me of the closing down of the 2G network and how she could sell me a new package and update me to 4G with a new phone. I am not on the 2G network and thought it was disconnected some time ago. This looks like a third party that purchased a mailing list off Optus to get customers contact details to flog them their service. Don't be fooled, it is not technical support, nor a courtesy call.

Answered, they said it was a service call not a sales call, they advised the 2G network was being cut off. Then asked if I would be interested in a 2nd phone

got a call from Virgin??her name was Jess?? wanted to discuss a problem i had way back in September, (3 month ago), but requested my details....to go into my account???? i felt it be most unusual that a company like Virgin mobile needed 3 month to discuss and i was called on my landline, yet i am a mobile customer!! Does not add up to be genuine, but rather suspicious. she went for the kill straight away. yeah my details...hehehe
