Yesterday I had two calls from a private number from overseas and today two calls from a private number and then this number (02) 8036 2172 a man claiming he was calling on behalf of the RSPCA. Was that the same caller? I don’t fxxx care anymore. I leave my answering machine to take the calls for me and I block the numbers appearing on my display. The main FXXX culprit is TELSTRA for putting my phone number in the directory without my consent.

Received a call which sounded like a call centre - then they disconntected the call

they do not answer.I had a message on Skype.Is it possible the call is from the computer alerting me I have a message? I vaguely remember I read a question whether I wished to be alerted any time I had a message.I am not sure.

I did not answer,they left no message ,my computer got a message from a free antivirus soliciting me to upgrade . I think they are responsible for the phone calls.

I received regular calls from this mob, my Fritz!Box is now set to automatically answer calls from them with a stern recorded voice announcement demanding they take me off their database and threatening to report them to ACMA.

Interesting variety of comments. Aussie guy said he was calling to on behalf of the RSPCA's animal shelter in Malaga (Perth). I am very sympathetic towards that shelter - however, as I told him, I would never donate over the phone to anyone. Surely no one else does either?? :P

It is this group below calling on behalf of a number of charities. Charities are exempt from Do Not Call Register but you can contact them using the details below to have your details removed from their database (which they must do if requested). I personally think they are walking a thin line as a commercial entity representing a charity (think Do Not Call should apply unless the charity is contacting you themselves):

I have been on and off for about a year getting calls then a hang up or silence from this number.

I receive nearly 10 phone calls a day from this number. They hang up as soon as I answer.

Didn't answer, I didn't know this number. Looked it up while it rang. Won't be answering to this scam!
