Caller: citibank acting for Virgin Money This is legitimate. Hard to hear them. Philipino and Indian call centres acting for Citibank. Most likely a credit card in another name like Coles or Virgin Money. Citibank manage a lot of those cards.

Caller: Citibank This one's legit - it was in regards to an application for a credit card (although their operation is kinda a bit disorganised and the staff are a bit hit and miss with their knowledge and service, so it had me wondering a few times)

Caller: Citibank Legitimate call from Citibank. Did not ask for any of my details other than to confirm my name and mailing address. They had the last 4 digits of my credit card, which was compromised as an online merchant that I bought from had been hacked.

Wanted to confirm details on my Coles Credit Card. Knew my name. Barely understandable due to a very heavy Indian accent . This call screams SCAM. I wouldn't trust the posts here saying the call is legitimate.

Caller: Citibank I had a missed call from this number - they were claiming to be Citibank Credit Card authorisation section. I called Citibank report scam 1300 550 216) and they stated the number was legitimate. Although I'm aware some scammers can port their numbers to look like different agencies

Caller claimed that I had been issued with new card and wanted to confirm my postal address. Dont do it. These calls are recorded and then played back to Citibank by the scammer claiming to be you. Once the scammer is identified by Citibank as you, they request changes to your contact details and then empty your credit card using personal loans. A month later you find you have scammed.

Caller: Scam call from this number Today I received a call from this number. The first mistake he made was he was either standing in a wind tunnel or driving with a window open. The second mistake he said my full name and stated he was from citicards, not Citibank. He was of Asian decent and when I questioned why he was calling he promptly hung up. I’m sick to the back teeth of these scam callers that use some how the correct numbers. How the hell does this happen and with today’s technology why can’t they be caught.

I had asked Citibank to increase my credit limit a few days back. I got a call from this number to confirm and correct my income as it does not match with their existing records. After the correction was done, he asked me to confirm the changes so as to submit the application. He mentioned once submitted it will get approved in a day or two.

Don't know who it is, they let the phone ring a couple of times and then hang up. They've called a few times now. I answered in time once but they still hung up. Looks like this number has been used for scamming for many years. December 21, 2024 today. Merry Christmas!

Scam. They sent sms then a few minutes earlier (on another number) and then rang on this number and pretend to be Citibank asking all these questions about who I am. If they were really from Citibank they would simply say we have detected attempted fraud and will send new card. The scammers are getting good - hand up and ring real Citibank number.

Definitely a scam. Challenged the scammer re: ‘unauthorised BOQ’ transactions’ and they promptly hung up. Anyone who thinks this is legitimate is a fool.

Caller: It’s a scam and Citibank have confirmed it today. As per others this number purports to be from Citibank. Call the number on the back of the card and Citi will tell you that they have not called you. Complete and utter scam attempt.

Caller: Citibank Legitimate call from Citibank. They left an automated message for me to call the fraud team back on a different number. When I googled the number it was indeed the correct number displayed on the citibank website for their fraud team. Called and they were querying a transaction I had made the day prior. I was trying to buy a gift card at Woolworths which had declined.
