I was called by (02) 8023 0431 this evening at 8pm and there was no one on the other end. This has happened before and is extremely frustrating. We are on the "Do Not Call" register so I have no idea why they are calling!

i get calls from (02) 8023 0431 DAILY on my mobile. i just dont answer them but it is SO frustrating. i want them to stop for good!!!
According to the notes for (02) 8023 0000 on 800notes.com, around Oct-2007 it was American Express trying to upgrade existing customers. I've never been an Amex customer, though.
Someone commented more recently in the notes for (02) 8023 0431 that it's GE Capital Finance trying to sell money insurance. This makes more sense as I was once, many years ago, a Buyers Edge (GE Capital Finance) customer.
It's probably a single marking/customer service firm, though, that's getting subcontracted by Amex, GE and who knows who else. Hope this helps somebody.

I got call from (02) 8988 7183 yesterday 2009-06-25 1.11 pm to my mobile. He claimed himself as David or something and said that he was calling from HSBC visa card.
He asked for my name. He started to tell me about insurance for credit balance or something that I really could not understand what kind of insurance he was talking about. So I said "I don't say yes or no about something that I do not know or understand over the telephone" and "send me a written paper". I didn't tell my address. Then he said "OK, I leave it to you".

Keep getting hang up calls, I know they want to speak to my husband and they are from AMEX, I have told them off for calling, therefore whenever I answer the phone they hang up.
