I finally managed to pick up this phone number after having several missed calls everyday for two weeks. A young guy sounded like a teenager said that he's from RP Australia and they're giving out free coles and woolworths vouchers in my area and can they stop by with one, but its only for families who go to work, does everyone in my household work and would I like them to drop off a voucher.... seems legit if you want your house broken into.

this number calls add it to your blocked list, it's people ringing to find valid mobile numbers. Another note if the number isn't in you phone with a name and photo don't answer, simple! Your bank will never call you asking for details (commonwealth anyway) a family member got caught out doing that... If it comes up as 'blocked' or doesn't show their number don't answer - if it's important they txt you if they can't get thru.
However the stupid thing is you need the number in your phone for it to block the incoming call from that line. So your contacts are going to be full of these sh*tty numbers... Best advice I can give is if you don't know the umber or it's not someone you know, just ignore it or switch it to silent until it stops ringing - declining the call early will also show the number is valid.
It's the age we live in with tech/social/media etc. there is always going to be people trying to get something for nothing by whatever means possible. I figured we managed before mobiles, why do we need them now?!? We even got rid of our landline because of these sh*tty calls at 2am in the morning.
Been getting these types of numbers for about 2 years now, they just use a new one every time you don't pick up.
Thanks for the rant.

Calls repeatedly any time of the day, sometimes up to 5 times a day for the past month. Dead line when I answer. Engaged signal when I call back. Seriously had enough. Will jam phone right down their throat if I ever find out who it is. Unfortunately I don't think it's actually a human calling manually, I think it's auto programmed to dial, however, it's still a human that programmed it, so the phone will still get shoved right up their clacker when I find out!

I'm willing to bet is another of ANZ's partners selling something. I just won't answer calls from unknown (interstate) numbers now.
