Yesterday (19 March 2014) I had 4 missed calls on my mobile and 6 on my home phone from this number. I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognise, particularly when they are repeat offenders. Clearly on an automated redial seeing the calls to my landline were 2 hours and 1 minute apart.

so after four times hanging up on my mobile's answering service, with calls at lunch time, after lunch, before lunch and dog walking time spread out over a week - more calls than I usually get in a month... turns out to be subsidiary of Medibank Private (I am a customer) trying to sell me life insurance and income protection insurance. Nice lady with an Australian accent but I asked to be taken off their list (or put on their do not call list. I tried to do that today by calling medibank but could not get through.

These calls are coming from an affiliate company of Medibank Private, according to Medibank Private staff member. If you do not want your details to be distributed by Medibank Private to other companies who are affiliated with Medibank Private then you need to call Medibank Private on 132 331, give them your membership number and lodge a complaint with them and tell them that they do not have your permission to hand over your details to any affiliate company. I contacted Medibank Private today about this issue after being harassed by the (02) 8017 8111 phone calls where no messages were left, and when I did answer the phone, they hung up. Now my phone does not work properly and I will need to take it back to Apple. This is not the first time my phone has failed to work correctly after answering one of these calls - it has had to be reset twice before after answering one of these calls. It is possible that this is just a coincidence. I have now placed Medibank Private on notice that any distribution of my private details again my permission being given will result in legal action being taken.

These guys keep ringing outside telemarketing hours. When you do get to the phone and they hear you answer they hang up. Every time after I have answered my phone to these guys and they hang up then my phone become corrupted and I am told by Apple that I need to restore the phone. This maybe just a coincident.... who knows... BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE - DON'T ANSWER THE CALL JUST RETAG THE NUMBER IN YOUR PHONE AS SPAM AND GET TELSTRA TO BLOCK IT!!!!!!!

I'm a night shift worker, and now a grumpy one! The incessant calls from this number are driving me up the wall. Telcos are not interested in this sort of thing because it's making them money!

Thank you for your information, "annoyed, June 6 2013". They rang my mobile and then rang my land line straight away. I did not pick up and decided to find out who it was - and found your info. There should be a law against it. Thanks again.

I've now taken to not answering any number I don't recognise. If it's a genuine call, they'll leave a message. I've saved the number as "Ignore".
