If you are a Telstra landline customer & want to block nuisance calls like this one, you now have the option of buying a phone from the Telstra Shop that can do this. The phone itself costs $48 and is well worth the investment. Numbers you BLOCK will hear the following message; CALLS TO THIS NUMBER ARE BEING MONITORED BY TELSTRA GUARDIAN; THE PERSON YOU ARE TRYING TO CONTACT IS NOT ACCEPTING YOUR CALLS, SO PLEASE HANG UP. People you place in your contacts list will get through as usual but anyone with a private / withheld number or a number that is not in your contacts list will hear this message; CALLS TO THIS NUMBER ARE BEING MONITORED BY TELSTRA GUARDIAN; PLEASE STATE YOUR NAME AND THEN PRESS # AND WE WILL CONNECT YOUR CALL. You will then have the option of either accepting or rejecting the call.

I have been getting calls from this number, but now i use 'Calls Blacklist' from the android store and added the number to the list now i dont get annoyed by that number.

In many cases this caller is committing an offence under section 474.17 of the Criminal Code Act Using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence (1) A person is guilty of an offence if: (a) the person uses a carriage service; and (b) the person does so in a way (whether by the method of use or the content of a communication, or both) that reasonable persons would regard as being, in all the circumstances, menacing, harassing or offensive. Going by posted complaints It appears that they have been committing this offence since at least Jan 2014 with Posts Dec 2014 claiming that after making a report Telstra blocked the calls from their service(as set out in Industry Code Process), If these claims are factual It may be assumed that despite being aware of this behavior since mid Dec 2014 Telstra has continued to facilitate the committing of this Offence in return for financial gain. They have been allowed to get away with this (Telstra too) because the Industry Code of Practice Process attempts to resolve the complaint without the need to refer it to the Police. If you have received Unwelcome Communications meeting the Pattern Criteria of 3 call in over 24hrs or within 120hrs or over 10 calls within 24 hrs and you have found these "No Response Hangups" to be Menacing and or Harassing then you are well within your rights to REPORT IT DIRECTLY TO THE POLICE!

I got 6 calls from this number in a space of 1 hour. I was at work o I didn't answer until the 6th time and they started to talk. I cut them off and told them was at work and to take me off their call list as it was disgusting the amount of calls I had received and I than hung up on them

I copied your above schpeal & quoted the first sentence to "them" when I answered their 3rd call to my cell phone today. It stopped them in their tracks!
Thanks for your sharing the suggestion, just great. They claimed they worked for a survey for insurance co.(s). Arrg.
