I was at my mother's house when I received a call from 'Windows' claiming there was a virus on her computer. I asked how they got her number etc and disputed many of the 'facts' he told me. This seemed to make him very angry and he become quite aggressive. I took his name and number and googled it. Sure enough it came up on various websites as a scam.

My caller claimed he was from Telstra, and that Telstra had become aware that my computer was being hacked. Had a subcontinent accent.
He gave his address as "1 Epping Rd North Ryde" (this is in fact Microsoft's street address in Sydney) and phone number as "(02) 8014 7207".
I said if he knew I was being hacked, he must be able to tell me my current IP address - he gave "179.322.2.701" (which was nothing like it).
Initially he wanted to access my system, but when it was clear I wasn't going to be fooled he changed tack and said he only wanted me to contact my ISP to let them know I was being hacked.
I asked what 'Telstra' had to do with this as I have no business relationship with Telstra for internet services. He said Telstra was the provider of internet services to my ISP. I asked why 'Telstra' was not contacting my ISP directly in that case. He hung up at that point.

I just had a call from Cyrus telling me he was calling from telstra and that hackers were hacking my phone and internet etc. I hung up when he tried to get me to do things on my Mac giving instructions that would fit a PC. He tried to call two more times and then gave up.

Also received a call about my computer virus. Asked for return phone number so I could call back. Guess what a web design company answered and put me through to Microsoft tech support while original caller was still on phone - advised him that he was running a scam and there was no way I would deal with him. Very quickly advised me that he was sending a Microsoft Tech with all paper work and I would be charged $500. Advised no and hung up. Started getting overseas calls that just hangup. Played them at their own game and called and offered my computer fault finding services for a nominal fee each time I received a nuisance call. After many calls then penny finally dropped and I was asked why I keep bothering them.. The answer was each time you call me and hangup I will call back every 5 minutes and take up your valuable time. CALLS STOPPED

"Cyrus" called and informed me that someone was trying to hack into my computer. Gave me this phone number and the CORRECT Microsoft address. I phoned them and they had no knowledge of such a number.

Just received call from "Cyrus" claiming he was from Microsoft Tech. I didn't let him go any further, just asked for a return number and I would call him back. This is the number he gave me. I have had six calls from these people recently, usually I just hang up but this time I was going to refer it on because we are on the 'No Calls' register.

Got the Windows Support call. Very rude to begin with. If they were offering a real service I would not be buying it. But since it was a scam, I played along and messed with them and called them back to keep the ploy going. At the end of the call, I had the operator screaming a blue streak a mile wide at me. He was not happy, spent time trying to scam me, and got nothing except for frustrated.

My call came from Tina. She said she was from The Windows technology company and that they had received my error messages from my computer over the past few days. I told her I'd have to call her back and got this same phone number. I suspected fraud, because I don't have a Windows computer.
