Keeps phoning but not leaving messages. Have tried to block but hasn't worked. When you try to phone back it says its not connected. Can this be reported somewhere, a bit sick of it!!!

Regular unblocked Sydney phone number to my mobile.
Indian call centre voice asked: How are you today? Me: Who's this?
ICCV: I am calling from (indecipherable company name). Have you been in a car accident recently? Me: No. (Hang up)
I expected them to call back to try again, but they must just keep trying until they get someone who has actually been in a accident recently. I checked online and found a article from 1 year ago about this scam doing the rounds in WA.
It seems that they've learned that people don't answer calls from blocked numbers so they are using general ones. I wouldn't normally answer calls from numbers that I don't know, but I was waiting on a call from a plumber, so I answered this one.
In future, I'll let it go to Voicemail. If they don't leave a message, then it can't be very important.

Caller: Scammers When scum like this call, don’t call them back. They use software to spoof phone numbers to make them look like they’re legit Australian numbers, but in some cases they will actually connect you to premium phone lines where you pay $$$ per minute. If you’re lucky they will just say they’re not connected. Look it up on scamwatch.gov.au. And as to the racist a**** commenter who wants to bomb India, there are plenty of Australian scammers & con artists too. Don’t blame an entire culture because of a few bad people.

I started getting these calls after I got my car washed at "star car wash" in Bondi.
I made a complaint to the staff after they did a poor job 1 month ago and have had these scammers call me ever since, fifth call now.

Female Indian caller in regards to a car accident I had earlier in the year. Seeing as I was badly injured in a car accident at the beginning of the year, I was unsure if the call was legitimate or not. I asked for the details surrounding my accident as I wasn't going to give them out to someone unknown and they hung up after abusing me. They claimed they got my number from RACQ. She didn't address me by name and couldn't recite any details surrounding my accident. moment I pressed and started telling her she smelled like a scammer and that my phone even brought up the call as potential fraud, she decided to personally attack me. I finished the call by telling her that I work for the Australian Federal Government (Fact, by the way) and that the call was being traced. She called me a c*** and hung up.

Caller: Victory Infosolutions Call about car accident, so laid on usual frosty voice. But thick incomprehensible Asian accent appeared to come from RACQ Claims Investigation. As a P plater reversed into me a month ago. I wasted an hour of my time, being passed onto others who pumped me for info. If I were prepared to lie about whiplash and that I'd been off work a week, visited x doctors, I'm up for $25K compensation. Feeling cranky with "Victory Infosolution" for wasting my time.
