Recorded message saying from Australian Tax Department legal office. Obviously a scam & I hung up

I returned a call from this number (02) 8007 5335 but no one answered the call

Caller: Claimed to be the ATO and wanted TFN so I hung up

It's likely a scam as not normal for ATO to ring and ask for TFN straight up. Beware~!

I think its a scam. Not sure yet. I have not commited any tax evasion so..

I received a call from (02) 8007 5335.
The machine message claims that there is an outstanding legal case against you, and to avoid further legal action, you must continue and speak with an operator.
I pressed the 'operator' repeatedly what his name was, and how do you spell it. Eventually, he told me the spelling of his name, and spelled out a offensive phrase.
ATO will definitely NOT call you regarding a legal case in this manner.

It's a scam pretending to be the ATO legal department.
They threaten an arrest warrant - they want personal details; TFN, date of birth, address, etc.

Fake Robocall from Australian Tax Department legal office (no such department). Obviously, a scam & previously reported to and confirmed by SCAM watch.
