Just had a call telling me that my bank was ripping me off(true)all i had to do was ring this number and on Monday someone would pop around my house with a cheque for $5000+.

yup - i got the same today - sounds dodgey.

Had the same phonecall today - claiming we've overpaid on electricity etc... again a $5K refund owing. Found this on the scamwatch website: http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/996097

had a call saying i was getting a refund cheque for 5230.00 posted to my home address BUT i had to call this number back 20 minutes later why? if it is getting posted sounds like a scam????
