A recording message saying he called for the Federal Police pursuing a matter on behalfs of the ATO that I breach some legal matter and needed to call (02) 8007 4696 or further action will be taken upon me.
Unfortunately, the number they called is a business number with no name of who they were after.
GOOD TRY and I do hope no-one fall for this kind of SCAM.

Car accident compensation scam! He called me today. I feel silly now that I answered some of his questions thinking he was genuine at first.didn’t give bank details but worried he is going to try to steal my identity details now. Like get a c/c in my name....

Told we had to be refunded for a car accident. Number plate was given.

Said he was from CTP asking was I in a car accident in the past two years - I answered yes, wanted to know whether I was in the right or wrong ? - .numerous questions were asked- I was busy but rang back later- they are wanting to know your name and address and details of accident - I replied "you obviously know about the accident" but didn't give any details ….to be continued!!

Called my elderly mother about a accident claim we had. I called the man back and asked for a official memo. I told him I knew it was a scam. So needless to say I have not heard anymore from him. Concerned if my mum gave him to much info. She said she did not. These people really do my head in.

Claimed was from Accident Claims Australia and said I had an accident. Same as the previous post so thanks for heads up. Not sure why they are giving out a number to call back as it is definitely a scam

Indian man, called asking if I had an accident within last two years. Tried to imply I had and was the claimant and they are acting on behalf of the third party insurance. I asked them to email all the information they have and he responded saying ‘I can’t do that at this time this time.’ I asked where you got this information from and they said they had many companies so wasn’t sure what one exactly.

Caller: A call centre (She sounded like Apu off the Simpsons)

Was first called by (02) 8103 2093 (confirmed scam number on this website) then called back on this number relating to an accident claim in the last 2 years. The alleged company was Accident Claims Australia and she was trying to bait information off me.
