ATO Scam. I called back on private number and no answer. Bugger I wanted to have some fun - cry, plead for mercy and hand over bank details - not!!

Received call today from this number. When I answered it was a recorded message saying it was the Federal Police in behalf of ATO.
TOTAL SCAM!! Badly done SCAM!!

I got a phone call from them just now March 29th, 2019. Time to get rid of my landline. I'm over it. No one ever rings me but scammers these days.

got call saying that Federal Police behalf of ATO unpaid balance on my name. Thy are doing to arrest me. game me number to call. before call back check google. So spam.

Just had a call from the same robo voice from ATO. You would think that since the number is known the would block it and find whos behind the number...

Just had a call as well. The same recorded voice from ATO. With all these complaints surely the number could be blocked and the person behind it found...

I'd like to point out, that the ATO will NOT call just out of the blue. They generally will send a letter then they might call regarding the issue, but they will ALWAYS identify themselves as an ATO employee AND give you their badge number as well as some other identifiable information. If you ever receive a call from a number claiming to be the ATO, then more than likely you are dealing with a scammer. If in doubt. HANG UP AND CALL THE ATO DIRECTLY! NEVER ENTERTAIN THE SCAMMER WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION!!

Agencies of any nature, whether Government or otherwise, will NOT action any form of action if you HANG UP then call their DIRECT/ACTUAL number to verify. If you are called by any agency HANG UP then call their Direct number, do not entertain an incoming caller from any agency unless you are aware the call was coming, even then, do not entertain the caller. Tell them you will CALL their agency directly, then HANG UP and then call the agency directly via their actual number, look up their number on THEIR SITE!! Do not trust any number they give you to call them back. NEVER TRUST THIS INFORMATION, UNLESS THEY HAVE ACTUALLY FULLY IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES, EVEN THEN, DON'T TRUST THE INFORMATION. CALL THE AGENCY DIRECTLY.

Rang back this number and they hanged up on me when I asked who they were. Some scam

I was warned of an ATO action against me that could soon result in me being arrested and telling me to call the number back immediately.

Smells lika a scam to me and I don't plan to call back. Was scary though.
