Reclaim office scam

A guy rang my elderly neighbour & also her brother who is on the Central Coast of NSW, He told her he was from the Federal Government, that she was owed a refund of $5,000 and she needed to give her date of birth. He knew her address and also then gave her this no to ring to confirm the refund. Obviously he wanted the bank account details for the bogus money to go into. The Federal Government doesn't call residents like this, and what department of the government did he think he was from, it is a scam and we hope that nobody falls for it.

Call today from overseas number, Claiming to be from government and advised we were to get a refund. He asked for DOB and for way of paying us, gave this number to call back, dodge alright!!!

Received the same call today and reported the incident to the police who told me that they had had hundreds of calls relating to these scam artists

Scam phone number given by caller. $5000 refund from Government after being "overcharged".

Call today from an Overseas number. Caller purported to be from the Reclaim Department of the Australian Government and advised that we are owed $5000 + from overcharges and gst on credit card transactions. Caller wanted details of our preferred refund method ie bank account. Also wanted to confirm our date of birth.
Gave a transaction reference number and said he was located in Pitt Street Sydney.

When we asked for a number to call him back, he gave this one.

Very dodgy.
