Told me he was from ATO had a refund for me for $900. Wanted bank details. Asked him to send me email to give to my accountant - got mad hung up.

ATO scams (not a very convincing one, too). Called to say there's outstanding tax to be paid, debt collectors have been sent but unable to get in touch so now there's an arrest warrant. There's also someone on the background yelling violently at someone on the phone at the background. Their sentence formulation is very unprofessional and the accent is very difficult to understand.

I received 2 calls from it this morning, they said it was something to do with tax, pretty sure its a scam, I've had 2 calls earlier in the week from the 'tax dept', not the same number, leaving messages in the automated robot voice thing.

This is a fake tax office call, a robot voice telling you they're going to come arrest you.

I answered call and no-one was there

These people are a group of scamers tring to get your details to steal your identification and money. They say they are the Australian Tax Office. (02) 8006 2356 & (03) 8594 2283.

I just got this call but generally don't answer Sydney numbers that start with 8.. because they have historically been spam calls for me. This number left a blank voice message. I imagine it's spam too.

Phone rings but no one there when answered. After period of silence they hang up. Called them back, either engaged, rings out or they pick up then hang up. Kept trying & eventually they answered but not say who they are. Very suspicious. Lots of Indian voices in background so looks to me like the office of Indian scammers

Always rings, goes silent when answered. Call back rings out. Looks like another scammer asa they seem to be busy recently

Returned a missed call to this number. They claimed to be the ATO and that they needed my credit card details so they could amend my tax return and transfer over $900 to my account.

Sounded like a scam to me, I said "nope" and hung up.

Fake ATO phishing scam

Caller insists he is from ATO, and wants credit card details to process tax refund immediately. SCAM : caller cannot provide any details any than name/suburb which is publicly available information. Report to ATO made
