Caller left a message saying that the IRS had a warrant out for my arrest hehe. We dont have an IRS in australia...

Caller: Indian Scammer claiming to be ATO

Received several missed calls from this number (02) 8006 2034. Called them back and it was an Indian man claiming to be from the ATO. He asked for me name and tax file number. I told him that the ATO have a toll free 13 28 61 number and not a lanline. Gave him a piece of my mind. Beware this number folks. Never give out your personal information over the phone.

Caller: They say it is an AUSTRALIAN TAX OFFICE

They send you a link to a chat line. I phoned the number back and answered it is the Australian Tax Office. They ask you to verify your details. I asked them why they are phoning and you can hear in the background that their are many more people (same nationality) asking the same thing. As soon as I started asking questions they hung up the phone. I phoned back and started asking more questions and the hung up on me again. Be careful....definitely a scam.

Missed the call so it went to my voice mail and was a recorded message saying something about an outstanding warrant and this was a final warning. Ignored and deleted!

Saying my TFN has been canceled and the warrant has been issued. Ask me to call this number if I want to canceled the warrant.
