Same thing today. Didn't get the number but a woman with an Indian accent told me she was ringing on behalf of 'the Westpac' and 'the Australian Government' and was trying to return 'overcharge fees'. When I asked her for some verification that she was ringing on behalf of Westpac she told me my address. I then asked if there was anyone at the Westpac office I could speak to to confirm this (having got none of the usual mail notification) she replied that this 'money return' has been 'all over the media'. I told her I'd seen no such thing and she promptly hung up.Very poor form

i juss wana rectify my words those who are getting traped in this process are so stupid how can one give u money for freedon't be so greedy just think practically...juss becoz of u people they are able to runn this scame so nicely......protect ur self from such thingswhen ever u get such sort of calls just try to search  out for that company on internet       bastered scammers  juss f*** off may u rott in hell

Somebody called my mother just now asking the same, bank details etc and they will deposit the money. They said they are from Government Department???

u people are incredibly stupid that's why are able to run this scam process so nicely..........hahah u foolish and greedy people.just f**k off.

These scammers ring my husband  and claimed that anz over charged him .  They said  they were from the Austrailian Goverment Department  and wanted him to give his bank details and sent the 190 dollars throw the post office . He refused and they threated two come up and see him in 2 hours.  This phone call was  made on the 19.11.10

I got a phone call today from a woman saying the same thing as the other callers....Call Richard quote number and he will tell you what to do. When l called Richard they hung up....Maybe he has had enough But no, 2 hrs later the woman rung up wanting to know if l had called him and l informed her it sounded like a scam and if there was money she can call Richard and quote the number for me if not send the cheque herself. She soon clicked that l knew and started backing off and said her good-bye's. l didn't give her any of my details but where do they get there info from?????    The white pages?????
