Same story as the rest - female caller claiming to be from Australian Bankers Association and stating that I'd been overcharged. She got a little snappy when I let her go through all her spiel and then told her it was a scam :-)

Had a call dead on noon. I answered and because they had rung earlier in week with same story and must have heard the disdain in my voice. They hung up without speaking. Love caller ID. 1 Victory for all of us.

SPOOFED AUSTRALIAN NUMBER USED BY SCAMMERS.

Just received a call a female, saying she was from Commonwealth Bank, I'd been overcharged, and the Government had taken it into their hands to reimburse us!!

Same comments as the others. Can't something be done to stop this?

Particularly rude, insulting and distasteful caller, claiming to represent banking services. Refused to go away, and called back THREE TIMES to abuse me. What a revolting and useless piece of s***

Most recent call was from "ANZ" (my bank) something about unauthorised purchases or charges on my account. Wanted my DOB so they could instigate proceedings with the office of fair trading. I asked can I have her number so I can ring back as I was busy, she got shirty and asked why I wanted her number and hung up.

Had a call they knew my name said they were from Australian Banking Association . Indian accent , and wanted to know if I was happy with My bank. I hung up. They rang back asking why I hung up on them so I hung up again. Definitely not a number to trust

Male caller claimed to be from Australian Bankers Association and asked me to confirm my identity. I said I would if he stated the purpose of the call. Poor petal got angry and said I must tell him who he is speaking to (not to whom) so I hung up. He tried to call me back twice after I hung up. Gotta love caller ID

Had a call from this number on Thursday 1st June 2017. It was a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from head office of my bank. She had most of my details but wanted me to confirm my DOB. I told her that i would deal with this through my own branch and she hung up. I called my branch and they know nothing about it.

Strong Asian voice, asking me to identify myself! When I asked who was calling she hung up

same scenario - asian accent gave a very Anglo name "M/s Wilson" didn't get as far as asking for banking details but knew my bank &{obviously) home #. Likewise said was regarding error with excess bank charges being paid hich meant the amount could be re couped via Fair Trading. I asked he rname and said i would call back ( didn't try to give a different # to ring) gave a very Anglo name "M/s Wilson". I called my bank who said not from them...a scam...worried I'd passed private details {hadn't}

Asian female claiming to be from bank re refund of over charges , wanted dob to check identity for refund !!! , same type of call on list April 5,2016 , still up to the same tricks

Similar to other comments, a lady with strong Asian accent asked for me by name and told me she was calling from the ANZ Bank regarding overcharging and that they were going to pay it back plus 8%. She then asked my date of birth to which I replied "I don't think so" and she asked me if there was a problem. "Yes, there is a problem. You do not need my date of birth... if I was an ANZ customer, they would already know it - Good luck with your scam!"

I just had one of these calls saying I was to get fees plus 8% interest. Knew my card number, name and address. I refused to give the security number on the back of the card.
I hung up on her. Asia lady name of Elisa Davis.
I phoned bank and reported scam and have stoped that card.

Female, strong Asian accent, asked for me by incorrectly pronounced name, claiming to be from Australian Bankers' Association. Began her spiel but cut her off saying I had no idea what that company was, whereupon she hung up.

Call from someone with an indian accent wanting to know which bank I was happy with at the moment, how long I had banked with them and my first name. Sounded dodgy to me. Won't be surprised if I get another call telling me my account is overdrawn blah blah blah-but I'm not worried-I gave him the name of a bank I don't have an account with!

Had a call from this number on 01/06/16. Asian accent, said she was from Commonwealth Bank wanted to confirm my DOB

Told her that I don't bank with the Commonwealth Bank

Funny reading all these comments. The lady that rang me (for the 4th time this week and it's only Wednesday) said she was from BankWest and was doing a customer satisfaction survey. Asked me if I was happy with my current bank, I said I was, then she asked me who I bank with, and I told her that I would prefer not to tell her. She then proceeded to argue with me about why I should tell her my bank. I just laughed and hung up.
