Had a call from this number on 17/7/15. Asian accent, said she was from Suncorp Bank, knew my name and address and wanted me to confirm my DOB. She said the call was about banks overcharging customers. ??? When I said I was wary of these type of calls she said she would send me a letter. She hung up when I started asking questions and suggesting I call her back. Sounds dodgy to me.

Just had a call from this number. 'David Parker' (not sure of the last name due to strong Asian accent) calling from the Australian Bankers Association, wanting to know which Bank or Building Society I dealt with. After advising I did not give out personal information to cold callers and also advising it wasn't anyone else's business, I asked him for his phone number. But he advised he was not allowed to give that out. I had also quickly googled the ABA and saw the scam warning, advised 'David' of this and that I again would like his number to provide the scam watch people. He was not happy and hung up!

I just had the same sort of phone call from an Indian lady who said she was calling about overcharges to my bank account - I told her I was not comfortable providing this information over the phone and that I would contact my bank, and then I hung up.

Had my name and said they were calling from the Banking Association of Australia and wanted me to give my date of birth and which bank I was with as they were conducting a survey to find out if I was happy with my bank and they would need banking details. What a bloody idiot to think you would fall for a scam like that. I hope they rot in hell and back.

23/10/17.Said they were from the Bendigo Bank, wanting to reimburse me overcharged fees if I could confirm my details. I asked for a phone number so I could call them back...they hung up immediately.. I should have just put the phone down on the table and walked away without hanging up so they couldn't call anyone else to scam them. Tell all your olds to be very aware of scams like this, most of us younger ones are already wary of calls like this scam!!

Same type of call, she knew my name & address & proceeded to say that she was from ING, a bank I'd had accounts with over 10 years ago. I let her go on with the spiel & then I told her I didn't feel like getting scammed today.
