Received a call from "Technical Department of Windows". Clearly an Indian Call centre. This is the number they gave to me.

If you've just been on the phone with someone who gave you this phone number, please read on...
This number is often given by Indian call centre operators involved in a phishing scam. They call people and inform them that there are viruses etc on their computers and ask them to run the "eventvwr" program. This shows a log of standard Windows errors, but the callers claim that these are proof of serious malfunction. Once they have someone worried by the apparent errors, they use one of a number of techniques to either extort money or gain access to your computer and webcam for identity theft.
