Hi!! This is not at all a scam.... These people do not get into our pockets and take money. I received a similar call and was guided in the same fashion. I paid 399.99$ for a 5 year service for all of my 5 computers. I have a regular access with this team and whenever i call them or leave them a message, i am promptly given a reply and proper service. I know they are a private company but what matters for me is QUALITY SERVICE and not the brand name. They just take money for their service. What's harm in that. windowesservicecentre is a genuine private company and they take money through a private gateway CYBERASTRO which i found out to be a highly secure site. So if you want QUALITY and RELIABLE service get to them.

IGNORE THESE PEOPLE - THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!
I got a similar call yesterday (in Sydney) from an Indian woman claiming to be from "Windows Support Centre". I had no intention of doing what she *told* me to do but I played along and asked her how I could check her credentials and she gave me this (02) 8006 0103 number. Then I did some checking and found this article in the Guardian UK, dated 18 July 2010 (!):
My mum almost fell victim to these guys last night, she called me while I was out saying that a guy was on the phone telling her that her computer had viruses. I told her to tell the guy to call me and hang up. I got home and she showed me what they were guiding her to do.I called this (02) 8006 0103 number which goes straight to a message bank, and left a message pretending I was concerned about my computer and asked them to call back. Sure enough they did and I played along to see what they do until they got to the point that I knew would give them access. I then gave the woman a thrashing on the phone (her name was Alina). They ask you to go to www.support.me and put in a 6 digit code that they give you. This gives them access and my only assumption is that they either get you to buy some software, or while they are logged into your computer, they plant a file that feeds back information of what you are doing.

This is a scam. These people claim to be from Microsoft Support and will tell you that there is a virus on your computer, when there is nothing wrong with your computer. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. They will ask to input your credit card details in a "secure website"
