Same as others...Telstra calling me...allegedly, my computer is being used / hacked between 12.00am and 3.00am...I said it was me...but they said it couldn't be...umm, ok then, it must be my avatar / clone doing my BAS late at night. I wish it was. I could go to sleep earlier and wake up with all my GST reconciled and BAS ready for lodgement.

hahah.. Mr David Frances you complete knob. He does sound convincing though, so you can see how some poor people do come unstuck... D703626 was the number he quoted this time. Funny how he also says he is calling from Sydney yet his call ID is overseas. Stick 2 fingers in your eye David Frances, who is clearly not an englishman

Received a call from a Jack Wilson today who mentioned that he is calling from Telstra. Said that he detected illegal activities on my system and that it is being hacked by South African hackers. Asked me to boot up my system for further guidance. Did not do so. Gave his employee number and contact no. Called Telstra who confirmed that they do not have a Jack Wilson and the employee num is invalid.

Had a call just now from a lady saying she was from Telstra. I knew it was a scam but thought I'd go along with it. She gave me her ID number D896139 (as above, she must have been Mary!). She also gave me a number to check that she was for real (02) 8005 6152). Tried to con me into getting access to my computer. I hung up on her, and she called back. I answered the phone and she was very rude and annoyed that I hung up on her. I told her it was a scam. She denied of course. I hung up. She called back twice. I ignored and haven't heard from her. I rang the 02 800 number and got a lady from Telstra Technical support...of course she wasn't.....SCAM!!!

Was contacted the same way by "David". Call sounded feasible at first then got a little suspect when he told me to get the run box up. I called Telstra with all the contact details & had them check "David's" Telstra ID number. Was told that it exists (although they cannot see if the name matches the ID number) & told that if this person gave a valid ID number to trust that they are who they say they are!!! :(( I disagreed and got the international customer service rep. to check this telephone number too. Of course, it didn't match any of Telstra's numbers! Moral to this story:- Do not trust anyone on the phone!

David Francis is currently on the phone to my husband, giving all the same details as mentioned in above comments. Of course, my husband is just going along with it all. Poorly executed scam!!!!!

yeah I got a call from David too. He is fun to agitate. Mr Francis gave me this number to contact him and said I had hackers from the Congo.... pretty exciting sh*t if you ask me. Good luck with your scam David, maybe it would be better if you channeled your energy and customer service experience towards getting a job on a real job.

Caller claimed to be Mary from Telstra, Employee ID D896139. My mother's computer had been hijacked, her ip address being used from overseas. Fooled mum by quoting her windows customer licence number, "inf junk" and running msconfig to show stopped programs showed supposed problems with pc. She allowed them remote access to her pc by running ammyy (id 46218215), then teamviewer (id 546 645 891, password 9355), then started demanding money to buy a new, uncompromised windows licence. She refused. They had run SYSKEY in the background to lock her pc with a startup password. Needed to do a few reboot/F8/restore systems to get around it.

Caller said his name was David Francis. Telstra ID A703626. Said there was a problem with my internet - someone trying to steal information! Gave address as 231 Elizabeth St Sydney, and the phone number above - (02) 8005 6152
Highly suspect.
