My mother received a similar call today (17 May 2014). They posed as Telstra, her computer would be cut off etc. etc. She asked for and got their number, I googled for it and landed here.

Just had one of these folks call me up earlier today. I immediately knew it was a scam, and I asked them if they feel guilty trying to deceive people - which they said that they weren't a scam. Scarily, however, they worked out the general township I live in - wrong street name and number, but the suburb was the next town over.

Just called me wanting computer access or connection will be cut off- is there any way these parasites can be tracked and prosecuted!

SCAMMERS!!!! Dodgy dodgy

They keep calling and say they are from Telstra and my internet connection is going to be cut off for 6 months unless I let them access my computer! Their number comes up on my phone as a private number so I can't block them.
