Got a call from this same number. They said they were calling from Sydney. I let them ramble on for a while before asking them what the time was. He kept asking me why I want to know them time. I said 'just tell me'. "We dont have any clocks in the office" he said. (as if).Eventually he said hold on and came back with "its 5 o'clock". It was 5.30 here and co-incidentally it was on the hour in India (12pm).While this was going on I rang their number using another phone and it was engaged.Abuse followed back and forth before he hung up.10 minutes later I rang the number, the same guy answered. I asked "can I have your bank details please". He replied with "pardon". I asked again, and he asked "why". To which I said "you want my computer info so I want your bank details". He replied "Oh, Fu*K off"

Been getting lots of calls from this number saying they are windows technical support and we have a problem with our computer.(all indian voices of course). When we tell them we are not interested the calls start to get lewd and abusive. We too are on the do not call register thats my next stop.

exposed but not gullible

Yep.  same same.  When I asked for more details i was given the name alan johnson, windows technical delivery microsoft, 15 elliot st sydney.  google it, it turns out to be a leafy residential street in beacon hill.  very poor english, sniggering going on in the background and a very poor telephone connection.  how many indians do you know of by the name of alan johnson?  and i'm not talking pocohontas.

the thing is, despite the unlisted numbers we pay to have and alleged call blocking, we still get calls from these w**kers.  highly abusive ones too.  through the telstra and the telecommunications ombudsman, i pursued a very abusive and threatening caller once, i even recorded it once i knew it wasnt legitimate.  in short, i was told i had to divulge all my contact details including residential address to continue the complaint and those details were to be made available to the accused calling party, yet i was not to be given any of their details.  no wonder society today chooses to circumvent established leglislation and protocol.

the law is a farce.

They keep calling me too, today 5 times, I asked address 15 Elliott St but there is no listing for this address being Microsoft or any business. I kept telling this Brian O'Brien about my problems if I have any they should know rather than ask me, he kept saying speak louder Mam I cant hear, right. Big SCUM.
Be careful every one, just hang up. This is getting ridiculous.

Ready this time

I don't know the caller phone number as I don't have caller ID burt it sound the same. This is the 2nd time I've had one of these calls. The first time, I must admit, I was pretty gullible. This time I was ready though. These people are the scum of the earth. Old folks like me are wary about the internet as it is. It makes it even scarier. I am on the do not call register so these people shold not be ringing. But only honest people obey the law!

Yup I too got a call mid last week at about 8pm. Which seems late for any telemarketers call.Said he was from Windows, and my computer had error alerts sent to Windows.Indian accent. This guy seems pushy, didn't have a conscience, and had a do-as-I-say-attitude.I could hear a 'clicking' sound on the other side of the line.I let him ramble on, clicked on a few commands he wanted via the 'run' command to pop-up files/folders. He was warning me that my computer was sending Windows error messages. Yeah right. Then said something about going on the internet and typing 'www.support.me'.I didn't and found it very suspicious.I told him I would call him back, asked for his name and number - Frank Ster (hum, a pseudonym for Prankster?) and the number (02) 8005 1786.Then I hung up...it is a scam.http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/security/359233/the-unstoppable-tech-support-scamAnd why can't the authorities stop it??
