I do that weekly but they keep calling my business. Very frustrating, today I took them along a little ruse because I was bored and thought I'd waste some of their time instead of them wasting mine like usual.

Just got a call from a Jerry O'Connor (he was trying to put on an accent - it didn't work), told me he was from the Commonwealth Law Claims and wants to know if anyone has had an accident in the last 2 years. Thought it was a scam, so took the name and the number and said I'll call them back - yeah right.

They called me twice this week about an accident I may have had in the past two years. Assured them I've not had an accident. They have told me twice now that they are removing my number from the data base. Waiting for the next call.

(02) 8005 0066 gee sound like the liberal party and their scamming business mates are at it again last time they rang me claiming to be from NRMA and somehow got personal details of accident i had 4 years ago and want me to pay up immediately funny think is NRMA has close this claim and its dun with.
I told this fellow go look up his facts and he see this claim is finalised and i asked him who was he with he then said it was another accident i had i again said who are you and which department of NRMA are you with,
He then gave me this reference number and said he was from the recovery section of NRMA i said find i just ring the NRMA recovery section that i received saying finalised noticed paid in full.
This person who was a complete Aussie then state he was from NRMA insurance recovery section and i was talking to the person handling the matter and i should give him the reference number so he can check it against his records.
I said mate if your from NRMA Insurance recovery section and your got my details then tell me the reference number so i can compare it against my records he refused so i rang NRMA and told them and they said just hang up on them so i did.

Thank you SO much, Sky, for this very helpful information. This is VERY informative and goes a long way to explain much of what has been happening with regard to scam calls at my work, to numerous extensions, and to my mobile recently.
Thanks again, you've done us all on this site a great service :)

I am a switchboard operator at a hospital, and whenever I receive calls from (02) 8005 0066 I transfer the call to my fax, and give them the screeching racket my fax makes. Usually they ring every extension we have here (several times), and most of them are patient bedside phones. Many of the older patients become quite distressed by the calls. I have on occasion made PA announcements asking staff and patients to ignore these callers.

Save the number in memory and select a ring tone thatyou recognise as a scam caller. When you hear that call tone do not answer.

April 21st 1.45pm I received a call from a Indian sounding woman asking if a family member has been involved in a car accident claim in the last 2 years. MY NUMBER IS UNLISTED. I took her name (Jessica) and told her I will investigate how she got my number and where she is calling from.

I have never stayed on line long enough to find out what it is they are supposedly after - no doubt money - but does anyone last longer than the initial introduction before hanging up on them. I have often thought that the next time they call, I would string them along a bit to see what it is they are on about.
